Someone help me understand something here. All other cities in Johnson County Ks. have banned private fireworks. There is a county wide burning ban. We've been experiencing terrible heat
& extreme dry conditions. Why has Edgerton said "Go right ahead" to fireworks in the hands of private citizens? Is the city in my front yard tonight watching out for the safety of my home & family? Are they ready to put out a fire on my roof or grass from my neighbors fireworks that land on my property? Sure,I can call the Fire Dept. after the fact. But I'm asking myself...was this a good decision? I say...it was NOT!!!!! Maybe I'm confused..but I think it takes fire to set off fireworks. So what is even the point of a burn ban? On this holiday celebrating freedom... what about my rights? Along with accepting freedom comes the burden of responsibility also!!!!

It is dry out and to dry for fireworks for sure.
I am sure a water band is next, but when it goes in place, the city golf course better not be watering the place.
