The article quotes office Bush as saying "You're not allowed to possess or set off fireworks within city limits in Bristol." The article also stated that people caught can be issued a city citation and have to pay fines and court fees.
Is this a new law? Every July 4th there are fireworks and firecrackers being set off all over the place in the city limits.

Just because they are being set off doesn't mean it is legal. But then again there is no way they can catch everyone if they choose to do so. After all it is like speeding, you know it's against the law but people do it anyway and there is no one to blame but yourself if you get caught
