Wild's Gaborik 'open to everything'

The Wild say they want to make Marian Gaborik another contract offer now that the season is over, but the star right winger doesn't sound particularly interested. Full Story

Does anyone really beleive he will be back here?....I don't. These last games were for his resume. Now if we could just get rid of Risebrough

Its too bad he is so set about leaving, as much as I have complained about how injury prone and greedy, he clearly makes the Wild a better team. Maybe now that Lemaire has left, he will actually consider coming back to a coach and that use him in the way a top line scorer should be used. He is the type of player that needs a good defensive centermen to cover up for his defensive flaws. If he plays with Koivu for a full season I guarentee they would each have 80+ point seasons. I dont know how much it will cost to keep him, but I am sure his stock has fallen around the league. Contracts will be tougher to come by in the NHL, Minnesota may very well have the best resources to pay for him. Other wise I really wouldn't mind seeing an offer made to the Sedin Twins as a back up plan. I absolutely hate them on the Canucks, and it would be good not having to face them 6 times a season.

Locals think he is lock to go to the Canucks in Vancouver. Mitchell and Demetria have alluded to it in their local media all season. It may well turn out that the Canucks get Gabby and the Wild sign the Sedin's. What a rivalry that would be, its already simmering that would bring it to a boil. The Wild will have the most money to offer, but that might not matter to Gabby. Lemaire was let go in hopes of retaining Gabby. A new coach that appeals to Gabby might make the difference in him staying. Though we all know its a long shot. Credit to the often injured winger, he looked like an all star this spring.

"I'm going to prepare myself over the summer to be stronger than ever next year, and really dedicate myself to what I need to do to strengthen and be stronger and healthier than ever next year."

Sigh. I'm glad you decided to bring that attitude, right before you sign with another team Gabby. Where was that mindset over the last 5 years or so? 3 more games played this season, we make the playoffs playing good hockey. 20 games out of you would have been enough. A full season from you, with Burns and Foster and Shultz healthy on D, and we compete for the division and a shot at a cup.

This is the most important off season in our Wilds young existence. I really hope the Front Office is up to the challenge.

I know that Gabby is an injury prone player but he still makes the Wild a better team when he is on the ice. I think if the Wild can somehow retain him and sign Sakku Koivu and the Sedin twins the Wild would be the dominant team in the west next year. Although i dont believe he will resign which suck i think adding the Sedin twin and Sakku would be ideal. Two sets of brothers and the wild would have at least two good scoring lines. Throw Gabby in the mix and they would be damn near unstoppable.

Gabby read this in English the signs at the Interstate and end of the runway at the airport for you is "DEAD END". I don't care if you had taken the Wild to the Cup and won it, you can wait and see but no other team is going to give you a chance to be on the rooster but not playing. The Wild have been way to nice to you. The fans here have given you more love and respect and expect just a little bit more that you have produced, but they forgave you. You find out that another team is willing to top what the Wild offers and you sneak past the "DEAD END " warning you will find the end is dead in another city for you fast. No other city in the NHL loves you or thinks you will be playing in almost every game, you are hurt so much...so take the offer here and play the best you can. Vancouver will run you to death and then trade you to some AHL team.

to the Central Division of the Western Conference where the Minneapolis professional NHL team belongs - with the Blackhawks, Red Wings, Blues ala the North Star days. Kick the Columbus Blue Jackets out of there. I hate watching the Canucks, Flames, Oilers & Avalanche. Boring! Besides why in the heck should the Wild have to travel half way across the country for every division game they play? That is weak! That alone would be at least one reason a free agent might not want to sign with Minneapolis right now. Get our NHL team back where it belongs - in the Central Division with our TRUE long-time rivals. Putting the Wild in the Northwest was a huge mistake and a diservice to Wild fans from the get-go back in 2000. Oh and I almost forgot - FIRE DOUG RISEBROUGH NOW!!!

The Wild are right where they belong idiot! What, the Jackets should travel the NW?, that is ridiculous! Not our problem you live in BFE "True-long Time Rivals"??? Where the hell are you from? The Jackets joined the league the same time you did. Wow, what a moron. You should be happy that you are not in the toughest division in hockey, you would not even be sniffing the playoffs. Get a life and don't forget to watch the Jackets beat the wings in the first round.

you young, stupid, loud mouthed little prat. you are the one who doesn't know what he is talking about. in case you didn't notice i referenced the north stars (who were in minnesota for approx 30 years) were always in the same division and were big rivals of the blackhawks, red wings and blues up until norm f-ing green moved them to dallas in 1994. i wasn't talking about the wild franchise. i am talking about how the hockey fans here in minneapolis and those in chicago, detroit and st. louis already have that long time history of hockey rivalry built up between the cities regardless of what our franchise is now called. big deal the blue jackets are going to the playoffs for once. woo hoo! columbus shouldn't even have an nhl team in my opinion and your city is weak. or at the very least you should be playing in the southeast division with nashville, atlanta, etc. and the wild should be in the central division where they rightfully belong! suck on that bro!

I know Gabby's not perfect, I totally agree with those that said he makes the rest of the Wild play better. It was like a switch was flipped, all the sudden the rest of the boys could pass (to each other...not the other team!) and make some great plays and were a lot more confident out there. And it has to be said...Gabby is a great skater and is great with the puck and postitioning himself. I agree....him and Koivu would be part of a great line.
Please Gabby stay! You will not be loved as much anywhere else!
