"The scoring exchange, however, was overshadowed a bit by an odd call at 8:34 of the second against the Rangers' Colton Orr. With Matt Cullen, a former Ranger, coming across the ice with the puck, Orr came in and delivered a shot across Cullen's brow with his forearm, though Orr appeared to deliver the blow leading with his shoulder."

Erik -

No disrespect intended, but this paragraph makes very little sense. You described the call on Orr as "odd", but you describe the hit as... "across Cullen's brow with his forearm". I realize there are varying opinions on the legality of the hit (as you implied by saying... "Orr appeared to deliver the blow leading with his shoulder"), but "odd" certainly isn't a good adjective for the call based on your factual description.

The Big Shot stRANGERS are only two pts ahead of the Islanders but the have two more games played.
Sorry, stRANGER fans. No Cup for you this year.
That means only one Cup in the last 68 years!!!
But you have a beautiful building and lots of fans to share your futility. ONE SINCE FORTY..ONE SINCE FORTY...ONE SINCE FORTY.

Calling interference when Cullen still had the puck is odd. Replays seemed to show Orr led with his gloves to Cullen's chest and that their heads may have collided with Cullen getting the worst of it. If the NHL is now banning hard open ice hits, the correct call would have been roughing. If such hits are not banned, there shouldn't have been any call on this one. Cullen was a good player for the Rangers the second half of last year and in the playoffs.

We Will Win Tonight, and the Devils couldn't do anything about it, also Mark scoring a hat trick.... in hockey that is embarrassing,

Don't pick on the Devils fan. They are an endangered species.

All too often officials judge by the result, not the rule- for example, had Cullen popped right up and gotten back into the play there's probably no penalty called-

The NHL office on the other hand is the exact opposite-
