Here is a salami sandwich, don't let the door hit you on the way out!

Al Cohen, please spend some money and hire a real gm. You got reeled in with both Keenan and Martin. If you would have held on to Dudley, we would probably already have clinched a playoff spot.

Look at the Penguins. They lost Sid the Kid for a month and they are still in the playoffs!!

Agree obviously with above, except i wouldnt mind him as GM. He is just a horrific coach. Mayb Boumaster stays if he leaves..but we are all acountable for our actions, and he hsa failed, barring miracle, for 3 years. Thats a long time in the NHL (see Ottowa)

really dumb time for an article like this. Team is playing it's best hockey right now. It's no skin off my back if JM leaves but let's wait until after the season for this crap.

For those who still can't decide, just wait until the Carolina game. That should clinch your decision (no pun intended).

If Cohen gets rid of him it will cement his position as one of the dumbest owners in the history of sports and forever cast the Florida Panthers as the laughing stock of the league.

3 years is not enough time to recover from the mess Cohen/Dudley/Keenan made.

The team needs stability. Everyone here calling for Martin's head need to stop blaming him for the 6 years of disaster that happened before he got here.

We all want the playoffs, but you don't get there with quick fixes, you get there by building a team and sticking with a system that works.

This system, now that the players are actually playing it, is working. Now that the team is all finally on the same page, AND WINNING, they bring up how we should cut the legs out from under the team yet again.

It's as if they get better newspaper sales from writing about bad news or something.

Typical hack job from the "clueless about hockey" S. Florida media.

His comment about Skrastins is uncalled for, and psychologically speaking, stupid and short-signted. If he meant to say that Skrastins was not as OFFENSIVELY SKILLED as Salei, he should have said so, rather than make a stupid generalization. The fact that, indeed, Skrastins "plays the system", ie. is a team player, obviously makes him more talented in terms of overall play than Salei.

With comments like this - which must be stupefying to the players - JM probably succeeds only in taking motivation away from many team players. He needs to go.

I think JM always talking about his Euros instead of talking about the true reason this team has had a turnaround and its because they brought in a true character player and tough guy, Wade Belak. He has made all the difference taking on the league's other heavys and allowing the skilled players to play unafraid. Belak has been answering the bell and has served notice the 'Cats will not be pushed around. JM has to bring in more players like that in the off season. Quit talking about your Euros, JM and talk about your character players.

How many slow starts have we witnessed this year? That is completely the coaches responsibility. Here is a quote from philidelhphia newspaper today from Philly GM on Philly coach:

Last night, Holmgren told WIP-AM (610) that "John needs to get better" as a coach and that he was deeply concerned about the year-long trend of slow starts by the Flyers. "He needs to get his players prepared better," Holmgren said...

So, you think JM calls JM and chews him self out? THATS WHY IT NEEDS TO BE SEPERATE JOBS!!!!!!! Keep him as GM, continuity occurs, and get a motivationg coach in...

It's my belief that JM isn't actually our GM outside of title and final decision making. I believe Randy Sexton is doing the brunt of the heavy lifting for GM.

So I don't believe he is having the "dual role" issues that people ASSUME he is.

In light of the Keenan/Luongo deal it makes sense as this would force JM's approval for any big deal yet leave him available to do that which he likes and does best. Coach.

(Anyone stating that JM "signed off" on the Luongo deal is simply perpetuating unsubstantiated rumors.)

The teams difficulties are simple. JM needs to get HIS players in instead of Keenan's. He needs those players to play HIS system. He needs them to stay healthy and out of the box.

He's brought in some nice additions that compliment his coaching style in Dvorak, Zednik, Scratchy, Mcclean. Our "older" players Jokinen, Weiss, Horton, Olesz are finally playing his system. He got us Belak to cut down on the injuries stemming from our players getting run over. He got rid of Salei, Gratton and other perpetual penalty problems.

Now that the team is starting to fill out with players that fit Martin's style, and others are staying healthy, we are seeing the results.

We are winning.

We will continue to improve if we stay the course.
