Great GM, He knows team can't Score, but does nothing.
53 shots, but all from the outside, no cramming the net, Please. This team must be broken up. Every year its the same thing. They tease the fans, but when push comes to shove, they STINK. Boycott the games until we get a REAL GM that knows how to build a TEAM!

If we do not have a pure goal scorer , why was Comrie signed for another year ?
He is a defensive liability ,-20 plus/minus rating, plays very soft in the corners and floats when he is out there waiting for someone else to get him the puck....not a Comrie fan

With the Atlantic division and playoff points as tight as they are, as tight as everyone knew they would be going into the season, it is inexcusable for the Isles not to have someone who can bury the puck. All fault rests with Snow. I don't know who the guy is who does telecasts with Howie Rose (if that's that guy's name) but he is a very smart, honest, knowledgeable hockey guy. He says the Isles don't have a go-to guy. He's right. Ironically enough, the team the Isles honroed with the core celebration was a team full of go-to guys; not just the names we all think of, but even guys like Anders Kallur and Duane Sutter scored some big goals. Not this team.

Yep, and with all your high priced talent, the Rangers are still at the bottom of the pack. We might not make it too the playoffs, but hopefully we can play spoiler for the blueskirts this week.

Fire Snow? Why? He didn't get a rental at the deadline so what...he's a realist. Now come the off season maybe the Isles will make a play for a goalscorer like Hossa, and maybe one of the FA centres in Calgary like Conroy. Maybe if the team can't make a late push we'll fall into a lottery position and have shot at Steve Stamkos, a goal scorer. I'm also looking forward to seeing what Okposo can do when he gets called up with 9 games left in the season.

Well they traded the only sound defenceman they has with any skills whatsoever. Now they are blathering about not having anyone to quarterback the powerplay. They had the man to do it but gave him away because ricky can't keep net and Bergerone was playing with ninkimpoops that like Guerin and Comrie. A blind man can see this is the weakest link other than ricky on this team. The no.1 line isn't a line at all it's a joke.
Nolan is a fool and that clown Gallant was a joke in Columbus and they immediately got better when he left. Idiot coaches, idiot management. Blind goalie. Made me ill them blathering on about needing someone to quarterback the powerplay. What clown would replace Bergeron for the clumox they brought in. Oh yeah he's big and slow matches up with most of the isle's defence now big, slow and crippled. Blind goalie, wheelchair defence great recipe for success.

recall the idiot nolan early in the year saying,'I'm not worried about not being able to score goals'. Huh?
Are you nuts?
Has anyone figured why they can't score? Could it be that they have so bought into a system (that sucks large) that concentrates soley on defense (playing goal in there case because rickey isn't a netminder)and have sacrificed offence entirely. They don't know how to score anymore. They play with fear, fear of losing. Which is by definition a loser! Winners aren't afraid to lose, they find ways to win! Let the players play quit worrying about every little mistake they make. A man that makes no mistakes is a man that does nothing which is exactly what the isles have been doing. NOTHING! NO GUTS NO GLORY!

Do me a favor...ANYONE who thinks Snow is doing a bad job...please name 3 REALISTIC trades or transactions you think he should have made that he didnt. Everyone's acting like he's not trying to improve the team...I really don't see that.

Save for a possible stick to the face or skate to the ankle, I don't think those 3 were very worried about Simon.

actually they are 10 games over .500 and only 7 points from the top. It's very tight, so I wouldn't say they are at the bottom. Teams at the bottom are Tampa, Atlanta and the Isles

I just hope the Islanders either start winning a lot of games or start losing a lot of games. .500 hockey will not help them either way at this point.

I was thinking that when they won those 6 in a row. I think it gave some false hope. It made it worse that it was right before the deadline. This team is going nowhere, they need to re-tool.

Daily Horoscope for December 30

If the December sales are calling you, you'd better work out a budget before you leave the house. Otherwise, you'll be tempted to use your credit card first and only consider the cost of your purchase later on. Even so, you could track down some great bargains now, provided you don't get carried away and buy items that you don't really want simply because you're astonished by the amount of money you'll save in buying them. But you'll save even more money if you don't buy them!
