If nothing else, the Islanders have learned how to deal with injuries and adversity in this "Shorthanded Season." Although the Islanders played .500 hockey in their previous 30 games , the loss of leading goal scorer Kyle Okposo and leading points producer Mark Streit, their two best players, was too great a strain to overcome against Montreal last ...

I agree with taking Tavares if the islanders get number 1 but if they get number 2 and Tavares is gone you have to take Hedman. Then perhaps ship him off for the third pick plus something good and take Duchene there. If we end up picking third that freaking sucks, anybody know the odds assuming the isles finish last?
Caron is a good pick at 30 or early in the second round I kind of like getting some big D there though like Doherty. Its all about getting lucky once you get that far into the draft though.
If the Isles finish last, its impossible for them to pick third...the lowest they can go is #2 So we're pretty much guaranteed Tavares or Hedman in that situation

Looks like we may get it too...5 points "ahead" of Colorado with 5 games left to play and Streit and Okposo out of the lineup. I had no idea how boring the team is to watch without those two players in the lineup but watching that game last night was painful.

Just a few more games until Tavares. Get it done boys.
You're an idiot. There is no guarantee that a last place team will get the #1 overall pick.

.... and if they do, I will refuse to play for this pathetic organization.

It's even funnier that Islander fans are obsessed with the Rangers..
I didn't even know the Islanders were playing last night, yet the Isles fans were tracking the Rangers..
Why don't you just become a Ranger fan since you spend so much time obsessing
Uhmmm...mo'fugger---why are you on an Islanders blog?

Oh don't cry now, there will be plenty of time for that when the seasons over and the rags finish 9th.

The Islander's need to draft a goal scorer and not a defenseman in the 1st round. Currently, their tied with Colorado for the least amount of goals scored this season. That's my opinion as a fan.
