If he has a great season and is consistent then pay him smartly. No more 7 year contracts...Its the owners fault.
Its my opinion that no contract should be more than 4 years long.
There should still be money to sign max and subban.

Montreal has to and it looks like they are sending a message that NO more stupid over paid contracts.
Good for Bergevin for standing his ground...
Saying that I hope Subban gets signed but not for more than 4 years.

Everyone is now trying to sign a big contract because of the proposed changes that are sure to come in the upcoming negotiations. I am sure Subbans agent is pushing him to get as much as he can...of course the Agent is thinking about Subban..

Your right...But is he worth more than 5.5 million per season?
If they do give him that...make it for 4 years

My opinion is they both got what they deserved and at a fair market value.

The problem isnt them.....its the smurfs.....thats almost 15million thrown away....

Price is a good goalie...with a very bad team in front of him. Fix the team and you have a guy with more confidence and a great goalie.

Take the 15 million and get two impact players....
Cut markhov loose and get an impact defenseman....an you have at least a contending team....
I have always said Montreal has a good 2nd 3rd and 4th lines.....Now all they need to do is take the smurf money and Markhovs and and make a first line out of roughly 20 million....

Its not rocket science....I guess maybe there is no french players left in the league so there sitting on it!!!

every team is paying big bucks and making ridiculous deals. That is how it is right now in the NHL. The league and the GM's are complaining the players make too much money....but it's those same GM's that give the players the money!!!!!!!!!! the league is a joke with that clown Betman in charge.
