Apparently islanders players think a playoff atmosphere is any in which there are more than 2000 fans in the seats.

Rangers Support the Islanders game 2.

Its the only way to keep that crappy team in new york.

I was at the first game at the Masoleum- Usually there is a good 50 50 or 55 percent isles fans, it was 75 25 Rangers fans!

THERE will always be a jealousy on the part of the stRANGERS because they are the BIG TIME team from Brroadway, yet they have only won one Stanley Cup in the last 69 years. What a tradition. Even when the stRANGERS have had 10 of the top 20 All- Time scorers and the highest payroll for years, even with the nice building and loyal fans, the stRANGERS can't win. The only time they have won in the last 69 years was when they bought the Edmonton Oilers dynasty team.
Was it the Edmonton Rangers of the NY Oilers?
They bought the only CUP they have won in the lat 69 years.

Good people always move out when the animals come in.
Who wants to sit near people that are so frustrated because they are the big time NY team that has won only one cup in 69 years. Thats a lot of years of frustration. They act badly and good people won't sit near them.
They pick fights and they are kind of smelly. So, Islander fans stay home.

You do realize you are the worst team in the league this year by 7 points right now? You should not be saying anything. 1984 was a long time ago my friend. Your superstar gaoltender that never plays was 3 years old.

Thats not the Ranger fans being smelly. Its the 40 year old seats we have to sit in in that dump.

Obviously it isn't "intense" enough to make the daily paper for their hockey fan readers. Sheesh!

It's still a rivalry, but nothing compared to the old days: Nystrom, Potvin, Bossy, Smith; Beck, Greschner, Nilsson, Maloney...

Memo to The King:
Please let the Ice Girls clean up your goal crease and stop cheating or maybe the gutless officials will finally assess the penalty that is required.

I beleive it's the opposite-
At one time I could see an Islander fan pounding his chest(1990-84)- Since then...nothing- The Rangers are and will always be NY's hockey team-
The Islanders are not even on the radar despite their success in the 80's-

Dont be too hard on him. You can tell based on his bwaahahaha and his nonsensical excuse for why he does not support his hockey team, that he is suffering from psychosis. Wouldnt you? What if your team was the only New York Area team out of what, 14 teams, to not win a playoff series in the last 17 years? That is pathetic! And with no end in sight either.

And to top that off you're nobody. You're just a fan who lives vicariously through other peoples accomplishments. You brag over how much better the team you ROOT for is than the team we ROOT for. You sit and get fat eating chips and drinking beer while the real men are on the ice doing battle. Yet somehow you feel this entitles YOU to bragging rights as if you've somehow contributed to the teams (you ROOT for) success. Get a life.

Um...isnt that the whole point of being fans of teams? Especially when there is a "rivalry"

Good to see an Islander fan admit that the Rangers are a better franchise though
