If I remember correctly, if Bailey plays in more than 10 games he can still be returned to his Jr. team. BUT, this year would count as his 1st professional season with regards to his entry level contract and his rights to free agency (restricted/unrestricted), arbitration, etc.

they should keep him up and let him learn...the Isles suck anyways so you may as well let the kid get some experience..

I'm very very excited for upcoming season, this is the first time I'm excited since Turgeon and Thomas, Ferraro era and I really think coach and young players will make a huge difference this year and I see in 2-3 years from now Islanders are for the stanley cup.
Lets go isles.

If he shows he can play, I'd love for him to stay with the big club.He has enough smarts and veteran presence around him that he'll be able to pick up the nuances of the NHL game pretty quickly. It's good that he's coming up with a team that has low expectations so that he can be part of something big...a renaissance of sorts for a team that should finally turn the corner.
If he were to come up with another club that perenially has a lot of big names but always manages to underacheive and disappoint (i.e. Rangers), he would not get the time needed to evolve and would end up disappointed when his team doesn't do what the "experts" said they would. That could hinder his growth and talent. Show 'em what you got Josh !!!
