since we are in the youth movement (as we have been since the fisherman logo was the "new" thing) we are overmatched because the other teams have more seasoned and experienced NHL players on the team. We do have a few good men on our team, but we have to many that lack the experience that the other teams have. Garth was an idiot for doing this to our team, and Wang is even worse for allowing this to happen. Sadly I am thinking that this is all a ploy to move the Isles when their lease is up in 2014, but by then, if they continue to play this way, ticket prices will be so low, almost no one will notice until we hear about the "new" expansion team, the Nova Scotia Islanders, or wherever they move the team

Get rid of any "Former" goalies who are still on the payroll.

Can we PLEASE get rid of Mike Comrie! This guy is a mini-Kvasha. The only forward out there who looks like he is playing at full speed is Bergenheim. I kept hearing last year how much this team is missing Jon Sim. I have not seen anything from this guy that impresses me.

thats the problem... if your team is missing a 3rd/4th line player like John Sim....then something is terribly wrong.

I like the offesive forchecking but the collapse of all 5 players in front of the goalie in the defensive zone looks just bad. How about some coverage up high, how about getting to the boards?

He didn't look good, but the loss was not all his fault. The three posts also didn't help. You can't blow a 5 on 3 for two minutes and expect to win the game.

Can't wait to Mark Parrish comes back so we add another player to our youth movement. Guerin, Sim, Weight, Park, Hilbert, Witt, Comrie. Martinek and Sillinger are injured. Man what talented young players.
And the Fans? really turned on buy one get one free and the arena is half empty.

Did anyone see that fight last night when the fan punched a security guard? I was in 121 and I think the fight was in 101 or 102X. All the players on the ice stopped to watch the fight ...

Anyone else have any more info on this? This seems more interesting than the game I watched last night. who won? what caused it? Was there blood?

It's a disgrace that Snow and Wang would field a team like this. Comrie offers nothing, Okposo looks like just another body. Same old team, same old organization. Snow/Gordon... Wang doesn't know his wing from his wong. You almost have to try to have a team without a single superior player these days, but the Isles have it. And did you see Bettman in between periods, telling how Islander fans need a new building, how it's long overdue, blah-blah -- what a crock. Bettman knows about as much of the Islanders and what they need as he does the game of hockey, which is absolutely squat. He was hired by 26 white male NHL owners hoping he could work some Jewish money magic on the league after years of working as Stern's #2 at the NBA. No other reason. That's why there was a lockout, that's why all he can talk about is new arenas and the business side, he knows nothing else.

agreed about the Isles..

However, your commish doesn't need to know anything about hockey. It IS a business and you need a strong business mind to develop and business model and to help grow and market it...

So I don't know how you can complain that all he knows is business.

"Jewish money magic"? Would that be more or less effective than Wang's Asian money magic? Jeez.

Ok, so at what point does the youth movement actually start working? They have been saying this for years and we get worse every year.

To top it off, I don't see any young players who are actually worth anything. I guess you can argue that Okposo is but if there is nobody to compliment him how is that helping his career.

Seriously, this team has become a joke.
