Ted, a loss IS a win!! This team needs young players with talent, something sorely lacking right now. The truth is this team MUST rebuild. The worst thing that can happen to the Isles right now is to go on a 6 or 7 game winning streak and lose a chance at the number 1 pick. What will that accomplish?? NOTHING. Most of the players now on this team will be long gone by the time the Isles are a serious contender again anyway.Tank the season and remember, a LOSS is really a WIN!!! GO ISLES

Now the fans want the Islosers to lose, how pathetic !!!
Move the team away, they don't desrve a team if they want them to lose.
As a professional you should never settle for losing.
Just shows how the Isloser fans are the worst in the NHL.
Can you spell laughing stock ???

Oh great. Here come the trolls to spew their nonsense.

"Islander fans want the team to lose blah blah blah."

"Not real fans. blah blah blah"

"Islanders, fishsticks, blah blah blah."

Just spare us.

Come on now.. Ranger fans want some Icelander wins now!!
Don t give up.. even a blind squrrel gets lucky and finds a few nuts..
So let's go Icelanders.. please win some games..
Look at it another way, if you get some energy up, win a few games... your fan base starts to see promise for next year, AND premium parking if you sign up for 2 years!! Can it get any better than that, I ask you??
So please win some games now so you don't get the #1 draft pick. You should try for the long shot to make the playoffs..Let's goooo Icelanders!

Do you keep this in your clipboard so you can repost it periodically with slight changes? I'll give the same response... 2 more wins for the Isles this year.

We obviously are forced to accept that the season was a failure but I would still take the current manifestation of the Metro Mug as a consolation prize.

Why did they have to change the name to Metro Ice Challenge when Hummer sponsored it anyway? Why not just call it the Hummer Metro Mug? I'm sure there are some obnoxious lawyers behind it. Dino?

Errrr... we're unfortunately on the same side of this argument in regard to the team but... you spelled Ronkonkoma incorrectly. That looks pretty bad in this context. It would be easier to let Scott make himself look like a fool on his own.

i hope to see some pride out of them the rest of the season, no matter what they will get a good pick. Besides this upcoming draft it is up to nolan and snow to put there heads together and build a team who can play well together not a team full of stars. They have plenty of money to spend so i hope they spend it wisely and dont make any bogus long term deals with guys who havent proved themselves yet.

for the record i think sillinger should be captain he has the biggest heart on that team since he has been out they seem like they lost a huge leader...nothing against guerin he used to be one of my favorite players but to me he hasnt earned that spot...going into next season that C should be up for grabs.

LETS GO ISLES!!!

Playing for pride !! I have been an Isles fan since DAY 1...If there's one game that sticks out in my mind as one of the most important in Isles history was 1990 or 1991, Isles vs. Quebec...game means almost didley squat, we win and draft one spot lower. We draft Scott Scissons! WHO?? The pick before us who wanted nothing more than to play for Al Arbour..you may have heard of ,...JAROMIR JAGR...Scissons is collecting fares on the tpke!
Sorry PRIDE!!!!

Maybe this "Pep Talk" should have made sooner...also its the entire team that should be held for this, not just a handful of players, everyone from DP to the thin "D" to the no hustle forwards! Its everyone! This to me has been a worst team then the mid to late 90's Islanders!
