This trade was originally billed as Campoli for a 1st round draft pick, but after watching Dean McAmmond win the majority of faceoffs last night, as well as skate hard/fast up and down the ice, put a hard wrist shot on net, and be totally accountable in his own zone while playing physical...well, he's the total opposite of Comrie. McAmmond has a track record of being defensively responsible and skating hard his entire career. I think he's going to be a good role model for the kids, at least for 2 more months.

I like this trade a lot, and I think Rob from Troy needs to take meds.

It's YOU who doesn't know anything. Comrie did pretty well on Edmonton (60 point seasons) and he's only 28. Campoli already had 2 points last night. I guarantee you that he is going to turn into a very good defenseman. I, also, guarantee you that the first round pick the Isles got will not amount to Campoli alone in the long run. No matter where San Jose finishes. Of course Ottawa was willing to give up San Jose's pick. The Isles should have demanded Ottawa's pick, which will probably to 7. Terrible trade. They gave up on Campoli too early (remember Todd Bertuzzi.) By the way, he was a captain on his minor league team. I guess the Isles don't need leaders, with the solid group they have.
Have you watched Comrie play the last two years? Rob youre so off base it isnt even funny. This was a good trade for the Isles. Think buddy-you can use this pick and others to move up in the first round!!!!

Someone take Guerin PLEASE!
Seriously, who wants an aging veteran on their team to make the playoffs. What team in their right mind would give up anything higher than a 3rd round pick to get him? If Keith Tkachuk only went to Atl for a third rounder last year what would Guerin go for, not much.

Yeah and pigs can fly. Mason from Columbus is the landslide winner hands down.

Snow said. "Now it's up to us to draft a good player with that pick"...... Not trade down in the draft!!!!!!!1
He looks like he made a good call though...of the players snow could have drafted from 5th to 13th...only Josh Bailey, Luke Schenn, Nikita Filatov and Mikkel Boedker have played this year.
Here are the lines:
GP G A Pts +/-
Schenn (TOR): 47 1 5 6 -12
Filatov (CLS): 8 4 0 4 +3
Boedker (PHX): 59 10 14 24 +1
Bailey (NYI): 45 2 14 16 -8

So OK he could have drafted Boedker or went with Schenn who is a defenceman, but Bailey looks good so far...give garth credit for adding more draft picks and picking a player just as productive as any that he could have taken

This was a terrible trade. The pick is San Jose's...the BEST team in hockey. And knowing the Islanders track record with draft picks, I don't expect anything great. Here we go again....Snow may be worse than Milbury...MAYBE!! The Islanders are the second most pathetic team in sports. At least the Lions are consistent!!
Snow made a good move dumping a potential problem player to stack up for the draft this year. Plus, San Jose's playoff performance can help the Islanders out. If San Jose keeps the top seed in the west and loses in the first round, we get the 24th pick.

If you think he should have gotten ottawa's own first pick for a puck-hog underachiever and a defenseman with a -20 rating then you're dreaming. I'm surprised he even got a first rounder.

Guerin and witt may land a couple of second or third rounders if we're lucky

Let's assume that the Islanders have numerous first round picks - what they really need to do is trade Garth Snow for a pick, even late second or third rounder. Only then will any of these trades mean anything, especially since they won't play professional hockey for a number of years to come. It's mediocrity for a while and the sooner Snow is gone, the better.
yes the RANGERS ARE REALLY PLAYING PROFESSIONAL HACKEY. GOOD TRADE

You might be the 2nd stupidest poster I have ever seen on this board. If you knew anything youd know if mad mike made this deal then the isles would have given up the 1st rd pick and not acquired one. The dude is a complete idiot! How he still has a job in the hockey business is beyond me.

I guess we'll see over time. AND, how many years have you been a fan?? What, are you even 20 yet? I probably know more about the Isles than you....like the stars that Milbury traded during his tenure. The Isles would have been cup contenders EVERY year if they had kept these players. When you graduate High School, then comment on what I wrote.
Are you serious?? Nice crack about the age. It seems that you are the one who hasn't graduated high school. I know about Milbury and his moves....this is nothing like that at all. Comrie sucks. I dont give a s-h-i-t that he scored 60 points almost a decade ago. He sucks. Campoli is average at best, and will be replaced. He didn't even want to be here, so he asked for a trade. Only a stupid GM would hold onto a player who wanted out. You really know nothing about the Isles or hockey obviously. That was the most moronic post Ive read from an "Isles fan". That was an excellent move. Are you serious??? Bertuzzi?? That was a rare thing. How many chances was he supposed to be given 100? He had years to do something here and failed. Get over it. Campoli is NOT a star, just an average defenseman. We now have another first rounder in a deep draft that we might end up trading for something even better. Get a clue and stop being a moron. In fact, maybe you should officially become a rags fan. You would do better with them.
PS. I'd rather be a little kid than a senile old man
