"Scoring at this level and scoring at other levels is two different animals," Nolan said." In this league, you have big guys who block out very well. You have to pay the price to get in scoring areas. In the American League, people are still learning. They might miss a few assignments. Goaltenders are a little bit off their angles. Here you have to do something to up the ante and get in those areas with his speed and his shot. He should hopefully be able to get some goals at this level."
I don't know. The Tambellini I've seen is the player that can't make the jump.

Comrie is softer than melted butter. He doesn't play defense (-18) and his playmaking ability doesn't fool defenses anymore. Send him packing at the deadline please.

id really love to see the tamby-nielsen-comeau line together again for a few more goes ... tamby hasnt produced, but then again, he hasnt really had ample opporutnity to show the team what he can do ( i really dont think a player can get comfortable when he's called up for a game - sent back down - and called up a few games later) let him settle in with players he's familiar with, and we'll see what comes of it

Comrie sucks.

All he does is bring the puck into the zone, twirl around, and then give it away.

Wow, he scored on an empty net!

We lost that game because we were outplayed from beginning to end by the Pens. We really only earned one goal. Hunter fed fed Fedotenko for a nice goal. Comrie's goals were extremely lucky. The 1st he only got because Conklin screwed up and on the 2nd, he had no business shooting it from such a badd angle but netted it thanks to poor positioning by Conklin. Comrie's line played lazy hockey all night long. Even Hilbert looked as if he's given up on this season. Hunter's line looked good...solid effort. BErgenheim's line also looked good but that line and the all rookie line were raw and outplayed by a more seasoned Pens team. We are now only 5 points out of 30th in the NHL! It's time for a massive sell-off...and everyone must go!

The only "spring" I saw was in the steps of our rookies and they WERE outplayed. Other than the Hunter line the vets played listlessly. At the end of the night it doesnt matter HOW MANY pucks go in the net, but how many of ours go in compared to theirs. They won, we lost...AGAIN. It was our 6th loss in a row. I don't know how anyone can watch these games and think for one second that players like Bill Guerin, Mike Comrie, or Miro Satan (who is injured) have a "spring" in their steps. We were outplayed....other than the first period our hits were soft and our shots were weak all night. I could stop most of Comries shots with my damn eyes closed they are so weak. Even the fight he had was pathetic.

Those are some great quotes by Mike. Its nice to see a guy come out and say things like that. Congrats on a good game, and Im sorry that pointless whistle took away at least one point from the Isles after a well-played game.

What was up with that call? The whistle was before the goal, but then for the faceoff the time left in the game was only .4 secs. At .4 the puck was in. The call was no goal, but the time keeping showed that the puck was in before the whistle. what the F.

I know there are a bunch of people who want to see Comrie walk - but I don't. Last night he showed what he can do when he is on his "A" game and I loved it.

His second goal was even more of a reason why he should be extended. Having been one of the stories I have watched throughout the season - I can honestly say that there is more to Comrie's past injury that is still bothering him and maybe even more.

Comrie is the type of player that needs to be surrounded by people unafraid to go into high traffic areas - he can and will be successful. While adding a piece or two will not get us into the dance this year, with an improved roster he should put up the kind of points expected of him.

why not put in the goalie with the winning record not the loser with the losing record. depeitro sucks big time and the isles will never win anything with a loser like that. top 10 goalie by what stats. he's nowhere to be found in the top ten statistically never has been never will be. he's a highshool goalie and a poor one at that.
while were at it that coaching staff is laughable. what a bunch of losers. anyone that signed that no goalie diepietro to a 15 year deal needs to find a new job. idiots.
anything wrong with putting in the backup (dubie) i mean he's got a winning record this year was winning before the loser stepped back on the ice and decimated the team
lose the losers!!

This whole franchise has become a joke. They never recovered from that ***hole Milbury. They could have been competing for the Cup for the last decade but because of him, are a laughing stock in the league. Never before has a general manager in ANY SPORT traded so many future superstars. Here's a list of players Milbury exiled off the island:

Todd Bertuzzi (First Team All Star - 2003; All Star Game Appearances – 2003, 2004)

Bryan McCabe (Second Team All Star 2004; Canadian Olympic Team 2006)

Roberto Luongo (First All Star Team 2007; Second All Star Team 2004; All Star Game Appearances – 2004, 2007, 2008; Vezina Trophy Finalist – 2007; Hart Memorial Trophy Finalist – 2007; Lester Pearson Award Finalist for Most Outstanding Player – 2007; )

Darius Kasparaitis (Russian Olympic Team 1998, 2002, 2006)

Dany Heatley (Rookie of the Year 2002; First All Star Team 2007; Second All Star Team 2006; All Star Game Appearances 2003, 2007, 2008; Canadian Olympic Team 2006)

Jason Spezza (All Star Game Appearance 2008)

Olli Jokinen (All Star Game Appearance 2003 (where he teamed with Dany Heatley for 5 goals);

Zdeno Chara (All Star Game Appearances 2003, 2007, 2008; Norris Trophy Runner Up 2004)

Eric Brewer (Canadian Olympic Team 2002; All Star Game Appearance: 2003)

Wade Redden (Canadian Olympic Team 2006; NHL All Star Game 2002, 2004; +/- Award Winner 2006)

Tommy Salo (All Star Game 2000, 2002; Holds the Edmonton Oilers all-time record by a goalie for lowest goals-against average – 2.40 (no small feat when you consider Grant Fuhr played for the Oilers); Sweden Olympic Team 1994, 2002);

The 2003 NHL All Star game was particularly noteworthy with FIVE Milbury rejects in the game (Bertuzzi, Heatley, Jokinen, Chara and Brewer).

There were no all star games in 2005 (lockout) or 2006 (Olympics). No doubt a number of these players would have appeared in one or both of those games.

Why is this important? Because notwithstanding this terrible track record, Wang kept the guy. So much for Wang's judgment. Where do you go from there?

Nobody should be safe from trade. After watching Martinek doing his best/worst impression of Pat Price saturday night he should be available. Ooooh , the nightmares...Pat Price, Jeff (Trixie) Norton, Derek King....when will they stop! By the way, if you young'uns out there think that Tambellini is going to be any great player because of his name you never had to watch his father play. zzzzzzzzzzz!

How true about steve tambellini, he may have had about 2 or 3 worthy goals while with the isles, but i cant recall them, and ive been a fan since the 73-74 season.
