The Leafs are far too young to have expectations of a playoff run. Just gaining a playoff round for experience would be great for their development. Too look at trading for experience at the expense of a sound rebuild is insane. Look at the Detroit team that Steve Yzerman joined when he was drafted. How many years before they won a cup after he joined the team? They built slow and steady. Look now at the legacy of sound Long Term planning. So let up on the push for Nash or other "star players". If we were able to land a 23 year old with lots of potential we would be thrilled. Remember Lanny McDonald was not really a star in his first two years. Maybe we should have traded him. Oh wait we did! How did that work out for us? Settle down and suffer for two more years the wait now is almost a rite of passage for Leaf fans!
