Yes the canucks came on strong but poorly penalty called by the refs was totally unfair by being a new hockey fans I even knew what hooking, tripping means. come on........

Hawks were flying like an big hawks themself and made a come back in third perioud and I am so very proud of my young team (Patrick Kane) way to go kid show them we are professional and we will win against them... the canucks is a great team I have no doubt but BLACKHAWKS are more professional..........

GO HAWKS GO!

Vancouver's 4th goal came on a "bone-head" play by Kane and Versteeg that caught the Hawks both tired and with everybody "in tight" deep in Vancouver's zone.

That resulted in a 4 on 2 going the other way with Versteeg so "out od gas" that he couldn't even get back to the red line before that goal was scored.

The Hawsks are indeed exciting...but they can't get caught all "pinching in" like that. They'll get "burned" everytime on a play like that!!

AND...for that to happen so late in the game is inexcusable!!

Let's hope that they can give Vancouver "what for" in Game #2!!

Entertaining game, although it looked like the 'Hawks had the long layoff and the Canucks were the tired team. Saturday night will be a more consistent game for both teams...and I have tickets.

Really a tough way to lose after the great comeback. We were way too aggressive pinching in. There is no way Barker should have been in that deep in the last minute. We got greedy! Then we were so gassed we couldn't even pick up the trailing defenseman who banged in the rebound after Khabbi's great save. Also what was Walker doing?? He throws the puck to the sideboards instead of at least getting it in deeper to prevent the odd-man rush. We needed to get this game to overtime, very disappointing. Hopefully, we can build on the great comeback for game 2.

I thought the Nucks would lose this one after their long layoff after the first round. They looked well rested, but their third period collapse showed they weren't as sharp as they should have been; that will disappear by Saturday night. I'll still stick to my prediction of the Canucks in six, though after tonight's game (yes, even with the 3rd period comeback) I wouldn't be surprised if they did it in five. The Canucks are too skilled, too savvy, and too tough. Sorry, Chicago, we just don't have the team this year.

Who is making this about Canadians/Americans ?

YOU. This is about one team being better than the other, simple as that. Stop whining.

Hey Connor, no we don't. The internet has not made it's way to Canada yet. But some day it will, then you can add bonehead comments on our websites like you do on your own.

Thrilling game! What a comeback! You can't count this team out. They show great heart. Grit. Determination. I'm very proud of these kids.

Barker got caught up in the moment. A mistake by a fine young D-man. He'll never forget that mistake and will learn from it.

I'm looking forward to more great hockey in this series.

Let's Go Hawks!

In five games? Really? I didn't mind losing because the Nucks should win in their own building after a nice rest. All I cared was that we didn't get shut out once the 3rd started, and to knock three past Luongo? Invincible, he is not. And now Vancouver knows that the Hawks know that Vancouver knows that the Hawks know that Vancouver knows that the Hawks know that they can be picked apart.

Can't allow odd man breaks with one minute left. Also don't forget about Huet. He has this team's number while
Bulin seems to have problems. Stats don't lie. If you don't have a win in 9 games against this team a change may be coming at goalie.

The Hawks beat themselves in this game. After the second period, it was important to get a goal or two to get some confidence in game two. However, when they tied it, the game was for the taking and Versteeg didn't get the puck deep while Barker pinched. This might be another wacky series. The Hawks proved they are for real and can score some goals. They made Vancouver's savior look human...

After two periods of relatively tentative play, the Hawks came out in the 3rd and proved that they not only can play against the Canucks, they can dominate them.

That's the lesson learned in Game 1; feeding frenzies are attainable.

Hawks in 6...

You won't see the Canucks ease up like they did in the 3rd any more, the lesson has been learned and the Hawks are in for a display of a team with heart and soul~!!

Very disappointing start as well as finish to this game for the Hawks.

5 penalties in a row to the Hawks was unbelievable with all 5 calls being made by the younger referee. Then to add insult to injury, both referees as well as linesmen missed two consecutive " Too many men on the ice" by the Canucks.

1 for 7 on the power play for the Canucks showed that the Hawks penalty killers did their job, but you can't take two or 3 double minors in one game, not at play-off time.

For some unknown reason, the Hawks slumbered through 2 periods before waking up. Excellent third period gives reason for hope in Game 2.

Video replay shows the Canucks winning goal scored on a 4 on 1 break with 1:13 to go in the third. You just can't get caught up the ice like that in a tie game. What were they thinking?

The Hawks have to have a much better start in game two or they'll be coming home down 2-0.

Don't start whining about penalties. The 'Hawks got a free pass in the first series. Vancouver out played them in 2 of 3 periods. Should be a great series!
