He is the hockey version of Kevin Garnett. Try to build a team around him and his huge salary alone and you end up losers.
yeah well that isnt the problem in markets that have huge television contracts, teams that play prime time audience instead of at midnight like the wild do. 2nd rate . name 1 other team that doesnt play in its prime time audience or even close to it. i guess maybe extenze will buy some commercial time.

you fans have to take off your rose colored glasses. minnesota has a nice arena thats it. but until minnesota proves its an organizition worth playing for than its a 2nd rate hockey town for great players free agents until it does prove it. im sure pavel datsuk is dying to come here so he can skate next to boogard, veilux etc. 3 goal a year scorers.
minnesoat is not the hockey town its fans think it is.
We now have an owner who cares about winning and dont have a coach that is basically a dictator. This is a great atmosphere for hockey, many agree its the best in the country. High school hockey is big here, college hockey is big here, and pro hockey is big here. If I were a free agent and looking for a great place to play and live and raise a family its the Twin Cities. And youre right, the X is the best arena in the league, and its not justthat way because of the architecture or design, its the fans and atmosphere. Denver and Colorado as a whole....Hockey town/state wannabees

True Wild fans can only hope we don't get Marian back, 8 mil a year can be spent on many other great players in the league that can at least skate half a season!

You know... I hate to say it, but this guy has something of a point. The quality of HS and College Hockey in Minnesota played by guys who are the antithesis of Marian Gaborik - tough, eager to play, and in it because they love the game - make it tough for a pro game to compete ($$$$) especially when the face of your franchise is an idiot like Gabby. Let him go. The Wild need a young, tough, charismatic, 2-way player that will carry the banner for the team and their marketing department can rally around.

i guess it wasnt neccesary for the flames, redwings, capitals to win the cup last year. must be convienient for those players playing when they want to.
Not sure if your realize this, but only one team wins the Cup.

To suggest that only players that win the championship put in more effort and heart than Gabsy is ludicrous.
(Your suggestion, not mine.)

Holy Crap It's Doug Risenbourgh all over again, I see he's putting his best foot forward right from the get go...signing a no name from edmonton and letting the franchise walk-skate away. Way to make a great first impression. Like I said before, the fans own this team not the front office, we decide if you succeed and if you fail and we won't go through another season like the last. go look at Target Center during a Twolves game, empty! that will be Excel, mark my words.
change sucks

god your stupid ,i dont care how much heart you put into it i dont care about the media rhetoric you need talent . maybe gabby will go to boston where david ortiz, kevin garnett, randy moss all set records all ex -minnesota rejects. 2 out of three champions. 1 set scoring record , td record . hey atleast the wild can be like the vikings a .500 team that all plays as a team that cant fill the seats. minnesota fans are ignorant they get talked oiut of their talented players by the media. funny as soon as they leave minnesota the media is living through them again. im a minnesota fan trying to point out our stupidity by listening to the media telling us whats best for us. typical minnesota liberalism no one can be better than anyone else they all have to be mediocre. PSsss, its no different anywhere else as stars go theyre all about themselves and until your ready to accept one youll never have one and youll always be mediocre.
bye gabby

Yeah, but I'm sure "Koloradow" is a great "hockey-town." Moron.

Sad thing is Salcer is and has always been difficult relative to Gaborik's injury issues. I don't want him to leave, but he is gone. Hopefully the Wild judiciously use his money to sign 2-3 players that will "augment" the offense. This team, sorry Team of 18,000, is NOT going to make the play-offs this year. Our hope is going to be through trade and free agency that over two years, I hope, will make the team a contender. Doug Risebrough was the cause of this. Thank goodness Dougie is GONE.

well lets see what happens the next few weeks. i dont care about primadonnas they bring excitement to the game. this were all equal and all try hard crap is BS for ignorant fans that buy mediocre products like lacroseindoor soccor etc . any player that does good is going to get an attitude cause it becomes more about money than loyalty . sorry but thats how the unions and entertainment industries work alot of it aint even in the players control. if your going to prop up a player and make money off him marketing wise than hes going to demand a piece of the action . so if you want your loyal players just hope they stay mediocre. why should a player put money in an owners pocket just for you fans and not demand a portion of it ? hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha hahah riiiiight. that never happens does it???

Libra

Happy New Year, Libra!. How's that poor old body feeling this morning?! If you're having a gathering, include casual acquaintances or newcomers as if they were one of the family. You're a real social animal and you know how to put people at their ease. This is a wonderful talent: not only do you have a network of friends and social contacts, as well as business ones, but you have the ability to bring others together. Perhaps you should start a dating agency this year!
