Veilleux is one of the rare breed in pro sports. He is on the low end of the comp spectrum and is greatful for the opportunity. I love his energy and willingness to play hurt (how many times have you seen him with a full cage because he's playing with a broken bone in his face?). He may have made a tactical error last summer in his contract negotiations, but he never held a grudge for being put on waivers. He never complains about ice time. Put Veilleux's attitude, energy and team play in Gaborik's body and you have Ovechkin. For the time being, I'll take Veilleux and his 110% every shift.

Personally I'll take Gaborik's 75% effort and winning the division. But missing the playoffs is cool too if that's what your into.

He seems like a nice hard working guy, but 12 goals for a career high and a -16 +/- this season just doesn't excite me.
Drew does have a point. Even though he is just so injury prone, the record for the Wild is significantly better when Gaborik plays. Get him back in the lineup soon and make a run at the playoffs this year.

Daily Horoscope for January 4

Pisces

Family, friends and in-laws are all hard to please. It is better to please yourself for once, dear Pisces, than to bang your head against a wall. You need to relax and get in touch with your own feelings. Do not hesitate to speak up for someone you care about. Someone may try to curtail your freedom. Set them straight and do not give in.
