Tom Powers, you must have a very sad and boring life indeed.

Has to be the best true definition....... "This series is nothing if not cold-bloodedly calculated."

Watching the game with a disgruntled buffalo sabres fan and a lost St.Louis Blues fan, we all agreed on one thing: you can't hate the Avalanche. Maybe a few of their guys, Salei...Foote...but you have to respect Sakic and Hejduk and Forsberg. All those guys are very skilled athletes to watch, guys who have been through the postseason battles and won at the highest levels. And none of us will ever hate Brunette after the shocker he gave us in 2003 over these same Avs....
Cold and calculated is how this series will continue. This is round one, and if we come out of it intact, there will be time to get the hate on with teams like Calgary and Dallas. Right now it's about surviving a very evenly matched series against a more experienced playoff team. Whatever gets us that W is just fine by me. Prolonged intensity is better than pointless fights that put us down a man. Great win last night. No time to let up now. |

Great win, way to take back home ice. I feel an intense game coming tonight and maybe all of that hatred will explode...

Hey Tom maybe you should teach another one of your colleagues about the game of hockey. Seems he wants to put dresses on these guys so they don't hurt one another.
The way the Wild is playing is exactly what they wanted after last years playoffs. Physical...tough...they weren't tough in Game 1 especially in overtime and they lost...they allowed Forsberg and Sakic to fly around without even a close fly by...now they are just pounding Forsberg and I love it... |
||||
|
Uh Tom, you should read the article from the Denver Post your paper syndicated. Uh yeah, they're pi**ed off over there.
I agree, it's tough to hate on Sakic, and it's tough to hate on Brunette (who represents a great Wild front office blunder to me). But it's easy to hate Forsberg and LaPerriere and basically everyone else on the Avs who's been skating with their elbows well above their heads. Yeah it's not quite the level it's got with Anaheim last year, but I think the respect is waning, and we'll see a desparate frustrated Avs team tonight. HOpefully the Wild won't be too tired, and they can come back to St. Paul up 3-1. |

You guys should read the article in today’s Denver Post paper. I take a run at your team much like the do to my little wimpy Avs. The wild are a bunch of bullies. They pick on our players and knock them down, except for Forsberg, he goes down intentionally more than a prostitute, he dives better than Greg Louganis. Oh well, you wild fans learned your lesson from the Anaheim series last year and toughened up your team for the playoff run. Looks like it's working. Next time your in Denver stop by for some Whining and Cheese. GO WILD!

Anybody read this assinine article in the Denver Post. I wonder if this is the first hockey game that poor excuse for a journalist ever saw:

Go Wild - boy did that guy make a fool out of himself calling out the Wild in 2003...saying there was no way they could beat the almighty Colorado Avalanche...what an idiot.
|

I read the article from the Denver Post reported in today's paper. I agree with the Go Wild entry. The Avs have to be the most vanilla team in the play offs.
I would like to also add another observation...we viewers here in Minnesota are relegated to watch the coverage on the poor broadcast quality of KSTP's 45 and Fox's FSNN. It looks like 1980 technology! Meanwhile the rest of the country enjoys the quality of HD on Versus. GO Wild! Even it it pains the viewer to squint for the puck! |
||||
|
Yeah isn't it funny how you pay for Hi Def but can't get it BS...I pay extra to see this in Hi Def...if its being broadcasted in Hi Def we should get that...crooked

Agreed Hi Def Viewer. Before the Wild game, while the Twins were blowing the lead in Detroit, I flipped over to Versus and enjoyed a few minutes of outstanding Hi Def hockey. Unfortunately that ended and I had to watch the Wild on the world channel in the history of television. I bought a nice HD TV and all I want is to be able to watch the two best HD sports, Golf and Hockey. Thank goodness they don't black out the Masters.

Watching the final game of the regular season in Denver and then the three playoff games, it appears as though Colorado is trying to coax the Wild into doing somthing stupid. I worked in the season finally as we did not have Gaborik for the shoot out, as long as the Wild have the series lead they need to just keep playing smart. Winning is the ultimate goal.

nice column jerk. why not just mention these are 2 of the classiest organizations in the nhl and move on with your life powers?
|

Please dont put Fedorik, Boogaard or Simon in tonights line-up, I dont want my Lanch wonder boys to get knocked around. After all, isnt hockey all about beautiful skating. Leave all that hitting and rough stuff to the Ducks and the other teams who want to pay the price for the ultimate championship in all of sports.
