I pretty much agree with this entire post - the Wild looked good even though they lost. Colorado was very lucky to win.
Only a team on the losing end has heard of a "lucky win". I'm sure it was luck that had the puck down on the wild's end./shakes head. So let's see some class and give credit where credit is due. that being said I tip my hat to the wild for a great game, and will be looking forward to the entertainment, whomever wins.

Damn Skoula.

Never liked the guy, then he plays a pretty good first period. I'm starting to think about getting off this back and then he goes back to sucking before pretty much costing us the game.

Gaborik wasn't exactly stellar either. Not bad, but not his superstar status either.

I don't know why Lemaire is blaming Sheppard. First of all, he shouldn't be blaming ANYONE. Secondly, I thought Sheppard actually played a decent game. At the very least no worse than most of the rest of the team.

Most disappointing is that yet again, we got pushed around. We were supposed to be the big tough team this year....instead we got pushed around all game.

Can we start putting some heat on this coaching
staff yet? Lemaire is getting a free ride with
his coaching decisions & hard to follow accents.

We need a coach ( a la Herb Brooks ) who can
motivate these players to win in the playoffs.

Is he getting a free pass because he won a stanley
cup with another team?

Eight years of this? from the same coaches?????

Sorry, luckily - I disagree, I've many times believed that MY team was lucky to win. I've seen the Wild get outplayed and win dozens of times. I'll tell you the most famous lucky win in the history of hockey was 1980 Miracle on Ice. Team USA was lucky to win - and I was pulling for them, dude! Hockey is a sport with a high element of luck--just listen to players and coaches--win or lose--they oftentimes cite good fortune or lack thereof for results in certain games. Even Joe Sakic said he was lucky to score the game winner last night. You are not being realistic if you don't think Colorado was lucky to win this game. If the Wild had won, I'd have not disagreed with Avs fans saying the Wild was lucky to win. That game came down to luck--that's how close it was. Good game.

comments on here starting to make me sick again. How can you bash the Wild in a game that they dominated and just didn't catch the breaks?

Sweep? Break out the Brooms? Are you F@$#%king kidding me? It's game one of a best of seven.

If the depleted Wild keep playing with the intensity they showed over the 60 minutes of regulation time, they will win this series and probably the Cup. Bad breaks happen in hockey, and the Wild seemed to catch a few too many bad bounces. But the shots on goal and the level they played at leave no room to talk smack on your hometown team. They have a hurting roster and are very thin on Defense right now, and they almost came back to steal game one and hold court.

Win game 2, and I don't want to see any of you fair-weather fans back on the bandwagon. I'm 2000 miles from the X, and apparantly have more faith and love for my team then people who live within a twenty minute drive of home ice.

Get it done tomorrow night, and steal one in Denver, and we are much more than back in it. We own it. Have some damn faith.

So luck scores 3 goals a game? Ok we got lucky, lucky that your defense couldn't keep the avs out of the wild's end. So i suppose you can attribute it to luck if you can't swallow your pride and give credit where credit is due. both teams played great but the avs were 1 goal better. Also if it is luck than Sakics the luckies mother ***ker in the world.. 7 overtime wins in the playoffs, first thing to do is get a lotto....luck haha. That just fortifies my belief that this isnt hockeytown usa its more like Depends "R" US. Now admit your team lost that game in the last 10 mins of the third and ot...Well luck or not I'll gladly accept that win and look forward to tonight.

Although I agree with on some points, the overtime time goal was a lucky deflection that went right to Sakic, so yes that was a lucky goal. Just like our game tying was luck with the deflection off the skate. Can't wait for tonights game, hopefully we'll even the series and take at least one in CO.

Clear the front of the net to stop rebounds from becoming goals like that....sakic was just kicking it there, so it wasn't lucky. The Wild let him stand there when they should have cleared him and not even let him get a shot, instead they were watching the puck. Also, the Wild should consider themselves lucky they had a chance to win that game in the end. could've easily been 4-2.

Yes they could have cleared him out of there, but they didn't, so thus that goal was a lucky goal, I am talking about what actually happened, not what could have happened if they did this or if they did that. All I know if the Wild continue to play like they did in the first and second periods they have a legitimate shot at winning the series, if they play like they did in the overtime, they won't. All in all, this will be one of the better series compared to what I've seen from the others. Go Wild

I look at it this way. You can have all the "skill" in the world and yes, The Wild played a very good game, but it boils down to this...skill don't mean squat if you're not prepared for the unexpected. Sakic showed his experience by being prepared for the unexpected. I'll admit...he wasn't in that position thinking the puck was definitely coming to him but when it did he reacted swiftly and decisively. So many times we've seen the same scene played out and the players involved don't react the way he did. They look surprised and it takes them a few seconds to realize what just happened and to figure out where the puck went. He saw, he reacted...he "spanked" that puck into the goal where it belonged. w00t!!

Hopefully tonight The Wild learned to be prepared and we'll see an equally exciting game.(Av's are still gone win it though):-P

A team fails to do something fundamentally wrong and the other team's "lucky"? That's what actually happened.

Luck is involved in every hockey game...Game 1...the Wild were lucky they didnt get blown out even though they outplayed Colorado for most of the game...but Colorado was unlucky with 2 post shots...then Sakic always finds a way to be in the right place at the right time...I don't call that luck...i call that intuitive.

Game 2...the Avs were lucky it went into overtime and the Wild were unlucky with 2 post ringers...but in the end it evened out with the Wild getting lucky with a goal off of a skate.

Thats why they say throw the puck at the net because you just don't know how it will turn out...you need those bounces in every series to win...especially in this one where every game could potentially go into overtime.

It's lucky because of the deflection off skate went directly to Sakics stick.

Daily Horoscope for December 26

Sagittarius

Mercury turning retrograde in your house of finances carries a rather unseasonal message, because it's telling you to pay attention to your finances over the next few weeks. If you already know that you've overspent this month, you won't need to be told that a few economies are just around the corner. Get the facts straight and pay attention to the small print. You may also have to make some adjustments to an intimate relationship so it can move into another phase.
