I am tired of CBJ management letting every other good player slip past us in the draft, because we have too many good prospects to give up. Are we the only team with good prospects? How come so many other teams can upgrade their teams and we can only add 30+ year old castaways to our team? What happened to the promise I am sure that was made to Rick Nash to get him to sign that long term contract. We will get you a #1 center and a #1 defenseman? How many years have passed and we have STILL NOT DONE THAT!!! I think we should call scott by he earned name: Hesitant Howson!@!! He is hesitant to make a trade unless it is the right one. Well, how many more fans are you going to drive away before you pull the trigger and make something happen? At work, two guys wanted to but tickets, but listening to their arguments, they decided not to renew their package due to many of these reasons, plus a few others. I could not help but be disappointed, yet understood completely. Hard earned money used to buy tickets for a team where the GM is incompetent and will not field a quality team, or make ANY quality trades. Come on Hesitant Howson, either make a trade to HELP THIS TEAM NOW, or step down and admit you are in above your head. I don't believe ALL your trades have been bad, but you are loosing fans like the stock market lost points in the depression. Too many too fast. Wake up Hesitant Howson before the only people left in the stands are the workers and family members and homeless people that were given free tickets.

TiredBJFan, you make some good points.
You're correct about the center and top D man. If you recall, CBJ have had three quality defensemen and gotten rid of all of them: Sydor, Spacek, Beauchemin (for an old Fedorov). The center is a dream. Ugh.
I do feel badly for Nash, because he probably did get all those unfulfilled promises. However, regarding our prospects, we haven't had too many in the past ten years. Look at the CBJ first rounders that were wastes: Klesla, Brule, Zherdev, Filatov, etc. So no savvy NHL GM is going to deal proven players for overrated, over-valued prospects.
The problem only compounds. The Jackets are becoming known as a graveyard in the NHL. No big time players want to play here. Any that do will have to be overpaid and the franchise won't do that. Upshall is a great example. He came over from a contender and is witnessing the losing nature of this franchise firsthand. As an unrestricted free agent, does anyone really think he'd want to stay here? This team hasn't even won a game since he's been on the roster.
It's sad. Great building, dedicated fans and a great original owner in JHM.
It's very telling that they can't even sell out a Rick Nash bobblehead night on Friday.
