I attended both weekend games vs the Flyers and the Bruins- I have a good understanding of the game having played it and watching all levels for over 35 years- For both games I was sitting in the corners and I was trying to figure out what Scott Gordons system actually does- First of all there is no system at all-
Second of all,if there is a system it absolutely sucks because this team is the worst in the league-

Islanders are LOSERS. Worst in the NHL.

Okposo, Bailey, DiBenedetto, Martin, Joensuu, and then Tavares or Hedman...there's tons of talent coming. In three years this team will be battling for top 3 in the NHL.

Islander fans will always have a complex about the Rangers. As long as you guys play in a bad building in front of a few thousand every night and do minor league stunts like a blimp flying over head you will ALWAYS be the N.Y. team in the background. Stop already the put downs on the Rangers and concentrate on your own team. The Islanders have big time problems. Your goalie might be done and the rest of your roster would not even make most teams in the NHL.
You nailed it Bro. This organization is a case study in ineptitude over the past 25 years from the circus in the front office to the cheesy marketing to the non-competitive product on the ice. This is no normal rebuilding project but more of a circle jerk. And combined with this economy we all know it's not going to be a happy ending. Kind of sad actually, I feel bad for the few knowledgeable fans that haven't bailed yet.

pfft..you are must be idiot #1's brother, dumb***. You wanna talk ineptitude, how about your blueskirts and one cup in 69 yrs and counting? And be honest, if it wasn't for mgmt buying out the Edmonton Oilers, you wouldn't even have gotten that. Plus lets not forget the recent 7 year absence from the playoffs that only ended recently. Before ya start goin off the Islanders try looking at your own joke of a team.

Tavares with Okposo, what do you all think. Bright future with both maturing at the same time in the future. If Douggie can mentor Tavares, Okkie should follow the lead.

SIXTEEN years and counting since your last happy handshake Gordy.....don't worry though, there's a rumor that Wang is gonna promote Little Ricky to GM in tomorrow's staff meeting, that'll fix it no?....congrats on the stellar draft position again. You really have to go out of your way to finish 60 points behind the other teams. BTW, not a single ex Oiler on the Rangers rosters that have made the playoffs four straight years. Tool...
