Full story: Newsday

So Michele Therrien is complaing to the NHL about the crease chrashing.

Would he like some cheese and chrackers to go with his whine.

Just put on the foil and play old time hockey!

"Now, Therrien wants to make sure that Brendan Shanahan and Sean Avery stay out of Marc-Andre Fleury's crease"-As for Shanahan crashing the crease, he's a veteran player who knows what how to do it and not intnetionally hit the goalie but rather screen him. Avery on the other hand...his sole purpose is to hit the goalie and do whatever he can to instigate something. Avery's going to get himself hurt one of these days because of his antics. He's a young punk with decent talent. He went into Fleury's crease at the end of the game to start a fight and intensify things for Game 3. Hal Gill's been around for a long time and knows how to handle himself and that's why Avery was still standing and unhurt. Get someone else like Godard or Simon and we have a totally different situation on our hands.

"Avery and Ruutu are cut from the same cloth" No not exactly Mr. Staple. Ruutu had his stick in Roszival's face..wheeewwww scarieee. There's a lot of that nonsense that goes on, even Avery does it..he'd probably goes as far as to say he invented the move. Avery takes it to the next level where he is just positioning himself to the point where he'll be severely hurt. Ruutu had that scare when Simon stepped on his ankle with a skate...Avery better cool it because as much as I hate him and everyone else in the NHL...no one wants to see someone get hurt like Steve Moore did.

Fleury hit Avery in the balls with his stick. What do you want him to do say no big deal. The game was 2-0. The pens scored 2 goals in 14 seonds the game before. You play to the buzzer ends.

False the Pens D is. Fleury did not have to save one good shot in Game 2. They were all blocked.

Couldn't agree more. The Rangers stopped testing a shaky goalie in game 1 and had few quality chances in game 2. When are we supposed to score? Figure we match the Betts and Crosby lines - 20 minutes, about 10 minutes shorthanded. That's half the game already. If Jagr doesn't put up points with his 20 minutes of ice then we are screwed. That leaves us about 10 minutes left of quality ice time to score. Stop matching up against Crosby. If our better lines go head to head then they are forced to use their defensemen with weaker offensive skills like Gill. Then maybe we won't be pinned in our zone for 45 seconds at a time.

Um, weren't you leading the charge for all of this nonsense in the first place, Mr. Staple? This article of yours now is kind of like throwing an anonymous punch into a crowd gathered after the whistle blows and then shaking your head disapprovingly at the chaos that ensues.

I'd rather not see what Therrien does when his team is behind by a couple of games, thank you very much. And if the Pens keep leading with their strengths nobody will have to see it this season. You seem to be saying that Therrien hasn't done any coaching other than to gripe. So how do you explain 6 wins in a row? They run their system perfectly. Get real. You're just grasping at anything positive - in typical Rangers fashion - by whining at the other guys. You and your team need to grow a pair and point a finger at the real problem - your own foreheads.

Jagr is keeping his yap shut now because he knows at 36 and captain of his team he has not yet led by example or tone. The Rangers tried to get in Sid's head, and lost Game 2 to the Penguins' defense. NOT what you expected, huh? The Rangers are quiet now because they got beat both ways over the weekend, and are very much scared of getting bounced in 5 or maybe even 4. Tell Jagr I said "hi" when he's playing hockey in Studdabubba, Russia in a couple of weeks.

WoW~ how you do sing a different tune in a

Tom Renney had the dialogue with the officials
to discuss Sidney before the series even begun;

Why should Therrien shut his yap? His team dominated two games. Even though they are young, the Pens won't be intimidated by the Rangers if they win a couple.

And smashing a players wrist, and holding your stick in front of someones face before a faceoff are hardly the same thing.

Semantics, but didn't Fleury have to stop a point-blank shot from Drury (right of the crease)? But I agree the Pens D is smothering the Rangers.

Sounds like the Rags need a good lawyer. Hey Dino, do you know any? We know you are too busy working with Al Sharpton, but the Rags need a little help.

The outcome of this Series is really not a surprise. The Pens just have more firepower than the Rangers. They have no one on the level of Crosby, Malkin or Hossa. Certainly not an aging Jagr. The surprise is that the media has portrayed the Rangers as a legitimate Cup contender. I have no idea how they arrived at that conclusion.

The other guys I agree with but Hossa has done nothing. He will be a free agent and probably saying hello to a new locker room full of guys next season.

Ruutu would never slash Jagr, or any other player with intentions of injuring him, maybe I would like him to sometimes, but he will get into your face and sucker punch you, but he would never do it from behind like "John"

So Therrien had a chat with the officials about crease crashing.

Now there will probably be a bunch of phantom goalie interference penalties every time a Ranger player gets close to Fleury. Maybe Fleury will try for the Marty Brodeur Oscar award for best actor in a hockey game.

After he slashed the back of his legs twice, how can you defend scum like Avery?

Hopefully not. Fleury's career is on the rise unlike Marty who's skills are on a serious decline. Marty needs every break he can steal (10 goalie interference calls during the season).

Daily Horoscope for December 29

Sagittarius

It's difficult to keep your mind on what you're doing today because it keeps wandering off in all directions. There won't be much you can do about this except to be aware of it, and preferably to postpone doing anything very complicated or important until you're less distracted and absent-minded. Unfortunately, you won't get very far with it at the moment.
