Justice Dept. won't support Jack Johnson pardon

There are 8 comments on the news.yahoo.com story from Dec 11, 2009, titled Justice Dept. won't support Jack Johnson pardon. In it, news.yahoo.com reports that:

The Justice Department is refusing to back a posthumous pardon for Jack Johnson, the black heavyweight boxing champion who was imprisoned nearly a century ago because of his romantic ties with a white woman. In a letter obtained Thursday by The Associated Press, the department's pardon attorney, Ronald L. Rodgers, told Rep. Peter King that the Justice Department's general policy is not to process posthumous pardon requests. In cases like Johnson's, given the time that has passed and the historical record that would need to be scoured, the department's resources for pardon requests are best used on behalf of people "who can truly benefit" from them, Rodgers wrote.

So this coon deserves no pardon as far as i am concerned. He is the biggest embarrassment to black people before OJ Simpson.

I'm Black and I'm not embarrassed by Jack Johnson. In fact, I think he's one of the greatest boxers that ever lived. Also, anyone with a brain knows that O.J. was framed. What, by the way, do these two athletes have in common? Could it have something to do with the color of their wives? Strange how these "coincidences" continue to occur in the U.S. Anyone remember May Britt?

I wouldn't know, ask the 2nd gunman on the grassy knoll, or was that the guy who confessed while on his death bed in an illinois prison.
