Jagr and Potent Power Play Paste Leafs

Full story: The Associated Press

Petr Prucha powered the suddenly potent New York power play, scoring two of the Rangers' season-high, five man-advantage goals in a 6-1 victory over the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday night. That backup goalie Steve Valiquette nearly earned his first NHL shutout was lost in the deluge of offense. Jaromir Jagr had a goal and three assists, linemate Martin Straka had one of each, Brendan Shanahan added a power-play tally, and Blair Betts scored for the first time in 12 games _ New York's only even-strength goal _ as the Rangers enjoyed their biggest scoring outburst of the season. I have been watching hockey for thirty years. I know
the game. In all of the years I have watched, I have not seen a starting goalie as bad as Raycroft. He may be a nice guy but that doesn't cut it. I have never seen such slow reflex's. He is a position player without position. I don't understand why people keep making excuses for him. You can't take chances up front if you have to worry about your goalie all the time. Every time the offence gets a lead they have to worry about him blowing it. Then the defence gets blamed. Call it like it is. Raycroft has to go. End of story.

Hey played 72 games last year and was horrible then, as well. Raycroft is a weak goalie. Period.

He also played the most games as a Leaf goalie. The is MLSE hyperbowl to try and justify trading away Tukka Rask.

2.99 Goals against and .894 save % is nothing to write home about. Also, he was 6th in the league in losses last year with 25.

I have news for you, he's going on waivers when Toskala is back, as there isn't a team in the league that will pick him or his inflated salary up.

It's a sore spot with me as I am used to solid goaltending in Toronto with star goalies such as Cujo and Eddie The Eagle.

Daily Horoscope for December 29

Cancer

Be careful today Cancer, because your emotions could cloud certain issues as they often to and leave you feeling confused. You should be especially wary of believing what you want to believe, rather than believing the evidence in front of your eyes. It's easy to kid yourself now about someone's motives or reliability, even if deep down you know that you're telling yourself a load of old twaddle.
