I love Pat Quinn, it was a mistake for Ferguson to fire him. Quinn's firing was political. John Ferguson felt threatened by Quinn, because Quinn knew that Ferguson wasn't quite up to the job of GM and had made some terrible decision's; and with Quinn having the experience and the authority to tell the suits in Toronto that he wasn't cutting it, Ferguson had to get rid of him to save his neck.

Quinn is a winner, does anyone remember what Toronto was like before Quinn arrived? They were terrible, Quinn gave us hope every year. Was Quinn the best GM in the world, no, but there isn't anyone who can out coach him.

The suits at Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment should have hired a more experienced GM to go with Quinn coaching.

Nevertheless, Quinn is a winner and no matter how Quinn coached Canadian teams do, he is always a good choice on the international hockey scene and I'm surprised that an NHL team hasn't picked him up yet.

Quinn will be long remembered for his excellent hockey career, who can be mentioned in the same breath as Scotty Bowman. John Ferguson will be gone from Toronto in the next 2 to 3 years with nothing to show for it.

Quinn has the ability to make the most out an talent thin team.

Good luck Pat, and the entire Canadian Team.
