The LA Kngs need to revisit the idea of obtaining a veteran backup goaltender to mentor these kids, taking the strain off these kids (goalies) and the rest of the team. This will allow the team in front of the goalie to develop their on-ice offensive play. They can concentrate on the play ahead of them in the neutral zone and offensive end. They will not have to continuously look over their shoulder and ultimately be distracted from offense in anticipation that they will need to get back on defense to save the goalie. This style of distracted play last year resulted in compromising the offensive play they needed to develop into a contender.
