Hey Paul: That was a tremendous Canada/Sweden game tonight. Congratulations to the Canada team for their 5th in a row!! I'm sure glad the NHL Network covered it. Some future NHL stars there tonight. Hello Tim and Tony. Get the Yotes tomorrow night.
Outstanding game!!! I still have butteflies from watching the game s we played agaist the USA and Russia. The team from Sweden may have 10 returnees next year so they will be tough again. The Russians missed Cherapanov, the kid that died. How are your guys doing in their HS league?

PAUL IN LONDON: i remember that the comment was made that the Wings were represented by no less than 7 different euro countries in the classic game. and again, it seems as though some have taken my comments and suggestions out of context. i'm not saying ban them all. i'm saying to limit the # Of non-n.a. players that each team can have to 3 plus the goalies, so a max of 5 per team. teams like the redwings that are inandated with euros and russians are like a positive approach for the topic of outsourcing jobs to the phillipines, india, and china. you ever get those mooks on the phone who don't have a clue as to what goes on in this part of the world, just as we don't have a clue as to what goes on in that part of the world. the entire system is completely screwed up. now onto grapes. he was unarguable a fairly decent coach when he was in charge of the bruins, but then got fired. duh ?? and i have attended games in the past in mississauga when the ohl team was the icedogs, even though we live out here on the west coast. i got my arena diagram marked as a favorable place to attend. but all teams at all levels are gonna be bad from time to time. do you really want to blame don cherry for what went on there ?? he is a classy individual who is extremely opinonated, not unlike myself, but only for the good of the game. this idea of the young and current generation always fixing what ain't broke is totally goofy. i remember sticks made of canadian pine; now plastic poly-whatever soso. i remember goalie pads that were 2 1/2 feet tall; now most are 4 feet high. i remember when helmuts were only optionable, and you never heard the word consussion mentioned; now helmuts are mandated and the word concussion is frequently utilized. i remember when the pads were made of sponge rubber; now they are made of plastic concrete. it's no wonder why we have so many separated shoulders and other similar injuries. i remember when we didn't have NFL style of nets behind each of the goals and now we do, and thus the art of attempting to catch a game puck during the game has been buried. we are a nation of OVERKILL. a much more reallistic and prudent procedure would have been to allow non-adults and alcohol in the 1st 10 rows of seating behind the plexiglass, but enforcing "adult only" and "no alcohol" in rows 11-25 just above the plexiglass. gotta go, see ya later..
