Paul: Agreed! Kids are taught from day one to "keep the head up at all times". Anyone who has played has been nailed with their head down and learns pretty fast. Goalies are a different story. I have been hit while trying to stop a puck or cover one up and the SOB's who do that need to get taught a lesson. I used to get the occasional slashing penalty as payback on the back of the guy's legs. Have to admit, that feels good!

Section 313 - After calling me a "tool" I didn't think you had anything in your bag of tricks as sophisticated as sarcasm. But point taken.

And Tim, yes been to handful of Amerks games over the years - always fun. And a pretty impressive history of coaches/players there in their history - Keenan as you mentioned, Don Cherry, Al Arbor, John Tortorella, Randy Cunneyworth (what for him - he's gonna be a great head coach one day). Sabres now have their farm club in Portland Maine - gonna try making a game there this year.

Re: Randy Cunneyworth - I meant "watch" for him. That's twice that I typoed the word "what". Must be frostbite setting in on my frontal lobe.

They did have some great coaches/players there in Rochester. And it is great that Hockey is making a come back here in Chicago. I grew up playing hockey out in NY, on the ponds, and on the erie canal. Those were the days, I still have my old Amerks jersey. Out of the NY teams I prefer Buffalo, I can't stand the Rangers, and the Isle either. They just have a crappy attitude.

Rangers are up next we need to avenge the opening loss, I want to see the Hawks play a physical game.

Anyone happen to see the wardrobe malfunction live in between the 2nd and 3rd. It just so happens the dvr was on! The girl shooting should have been more careful jumping around after her goal.

Thoroughly enjoyed watching that one! Being here in Ft. Wayne, I don't get to many Hawks games, but with the home games on TV now, I get to see so many more on Comcast SportsNet!
I have my toddler son watching the anthem with me ... he already knows to stand and clap for the anthm at the UC!
Let's Go Hawks!
__________

What, you guys in Ft. Wayne don't have the Komets any longer ?? Heh Heh. Pretty decent team, at least when the UHL was around and a fantastic building to watch a game from. Guess you're a member of the IHL now, right ??

Sabres fan here..Hawks dominated a whimpy Sabres team last night. Hawks seem to have the right balance of grit, hitting and some play makers. Take care of Kane and Campbell..Sabres were fools to let Soupy go..and Kane..is a good kid...
Here's hoping the Sabres make moves to get tougher..right now it is no contest..your personnel over ours.
Make moves?? The Sabres couldn't make a move if you spotted them the m o, and v!

Chico17. love to see a goal tender that has some fight in him and protects his territory. Brian Hextall and especially Billy Smith come to mind. Saw Smith when he played for the old Cornwall Royals and even in junior guys respected his crease area.
You are an old hand so I bet you probably passed out a few " separators" a few ankle raps and a few calf "massages". A guy has got to do what he has to do to protect his turf or what we know today as the blue ice. In the old 1 referee days you could get away with more. The best move was when the puck went up ice and the zebras turned away to follow the play. If an opposing player was stragling behind and got too close to your crease ... well I am sure you know the rest of the story.
Regards
Paul.
