Campbell is certainly delivering on the ice, and based on the reported comments he made after Savard was fired, he seems to also providing a lot of important veteran support and guidance to the younger guys off of it. I'm not sure that is worth $56M, but If he can continue the way he has started out, I don't think too many fans (or Rocky for that matter) will be complaining...

The key for guys like Johnson, Hendry, Walker, Sopel et al, will be to be effective in supporting roles to the "big 3" and take some of the minute load off of Campbell, Keith & Seabrook.

Barker at this point appears to be the odd man out. If that is the case, they should move him while his value is still relatively high.

I have been watching Campbell play since he was a junior with the Ottawa67's. The guy is the real deal. Skates like Coffey, sees the ice, runs a PP and is an asset that is beyond value in the dressing room. He is also fan friendly and a heck of a nice guy off the ice. Rocky got the best free agent available this year when he signed Soupy and believe me he will be worth what he is being paid.

I agree with Paul, the more Campbell is on the ice the more I like what we see.Bring on Chelly and Red Wings. That will be fun.

Campbell is the straw that stirs the drink. I love the way he's playing now. He's shooting more which he wasn't doing earlier..$56mil? Heck nobody's worth that kind of money but you want to get better you have to pay.Right now he's earning every penny.Let's see if we can say the same about Huet down the line...

It is hard to differentiate Savard the coach and Savard the player. A lot of people upset to see Savard go have this problem apparently. A change of scenery is also necessary sometimes in pro sports and it seems to have worked! Quenville the coach, over Savard the coach all day. Numbers/Stats dont lie

Sometimes you've got to buy a premium saute pan to get perfection in something as simple as an omelette. It's not that you can't make a perfect omelette without one, rather the pan isn't going to be an impediment to perfect omelettes or everything else you need a saute pan for. Plus it elevates the chef's menu.

Same for Campbell. It was really apparent that Brian wasn't trying to justify his tab, but, just playing within himself and himself is pretty damn good! The rest of the team is following his lead (those that weren't already playing to their strengths, that is). He fits this team like a glove, with his youthful energy and snap quick skills. Nice pickup.

Off topic, where's Beach. I heard about his bull-in-a-china-shop style and thought it would be a great counterpoint to the other kid's finesse play. I guess we'll have to wait 'til the Campbell guy starts to wane. ;-)

Campbell is the best skater on the Hawks, and one of the best in the NHL. The guy has moves that most players wish they had, and he is fast. He makes heads up plays and I really like what he brings to the team. If you look around the league and see what guys are making I really do not think that the Hawks paid too much for him.

Beach will have his chance, actully I can see Beach replacing #55 or maybe even Buff if he doesn't start to play better. I would love to see Beach on the team, they need that tuff guy.

Beach didn't look ready yet. I wanted to see him make the team. They need his toughness and attitude. But he was really rough around the edges and needs to work on his skating. He'll be here someday, I doubt this year though.

Beach is in Everett, 9 points in 5 games and seems to be maturing

I'm pumped for Beach and Aliu, I think they will be ready next year. They will bring a real tough presence on the ice. No one will want to mess with those dudes..

I am looking forward to seeing Beach. Not too sure about Aliu I heard that he is alittle crazy. So after that great game on Wednesday they are going to change the lineup for Detroit on Saturday. Sopel is going to be back in the line up. Why? I don't get it, they should keep the same group of guys that played against the Oil.

And they are going to reveal the Winter Classic Jerseys at Saturdays game. I can't wait to see what the Hawks are going to be wearing.

I'm guessing they wear the alumni jerseys for the winter classic. Black jerseys with the red stripes and throw back indian head.

The problem is that they'll ruin the look with all that pretty headgear and face guards ;-)

"TOK,D!" (Sorry, didn't want to leave it out, but, it takes a lot of shift keying to do, so "Caps Lock")

Can someone explain why Eager is on the club? Seems like all he does is try to run people over and has little puck handling skills. And, besides, he can't fight at all, he gets put on the ice nearly every time. We don't need the 4th line made up of clones. Burish fills his role nicely and has some talent on the puck besides. I could see Barker coming in for Walker if they want more offense but as long as they are winning, don't change it too much.

Barker won't be on the club until they fix their cap situation... Barker's contract is too big

Not that I am aware of. He hasn't been in any of the write ups on Windsor's last 3 games.
Aliu is going to play for the Knights tonight. he has been out with a groin injury. Hope he has an attitude adjustment. So much talent if he would only get his act together.
