Jeff Halpern had a goal and two assists and the Tampa Bay Lightning beat Florida 3-1 on Tuesday night, hurting the Panthers' late playoff push.

Well, that should put the nail in it. No effort at all tonight. Really sad. Only the third game I've been able to go to all year and I was sorely disappointed. I thought there was no way the could lose tonight. But then I remembered I was rooting for the Panthers. Maybe they can bring Mathias, Frolik and a couple of the young guys up for a few games to finish out the season, let them have some fun, get some experience.

Yeah, I guess now all the cheerleader-type "fans" will start to fade off into the sunset and the rest of use battered, bruised and beaten panthers fans will just have to get used to another early offseason. Hopefully there will be some major changes with the team this year, starting at the top and working its way down.
