Is it true ? When we do this again, ugh, in 5 years , we will all be supplied with Rascals to drive from the Marriot ? That would be awesome. This is getting old. Maybe a few of us will be driven to Mosuleum in hearsts. Line em up.
How many of you morons will be going to this celebration today ???
Stay home and watch it on TV, it's cold outside.
Now if this was in Manhatten, that would be different.
Please don't let us do this anymore Emporer Wang.

dog (sutter)has it exactly right. times are different now. the novelty of new building may attract some fans at first, but the only way to really get them back is to win. pure and simple. if you win, they'll pay to see you play in a tar pit.

Honoring a club's history is very important. I will get chills I'm sure when watching the ceremony on Sunday. Seeing Trent Hunter sign a new contract is a positive for the franchise. Every player who had a chance to leave after last season signed with a new team. How will the Isles attract any real young free agent talent? A new building would be nice. Winning attracts and keeps fans in the seats. When Iistening to Bob Nystrom speak I feel good vibes coming from a winner. Nystrom was not the most talented player to wear an Islanders jersey. However, the club could use players with his heart and desire. Hopefully, better days are ahead on the Island....

look guys its the 25th anniversey of a great great great classic team. Maybe the last team to ever win 4 straight in any sport. This is not old. If the islanders were the best team in the league this would still go on today. This is not a ploy to sell tickets. THis would go on for any team in the nhl. Ok its 25 years since a great great team won there 4th straight cup. If this was the ranger$ it would be SO HUGE. IT would be a weekend long celebration. So listen the islanders have had other ceremonies but the 25th anniversery of 1980 was fine. It was suitable. The islanders hall of fame night with bob bourne, yea that was to sell some tickets i feel, but not this. This is deserving so praise the old team - dynasty.

Islanders keep rolling out these old codgers, because the current team stinks like a three week old hallibut. First, Al Arbour gets credit for a win, while napping. Then we celebrate "Silly's" 1,000th game - with only one goal btw. Now this. You Islander fans are suckers. What's next, a night honoring Chico Resch's pet hamster ? This stuff make me puke.

Go-to-guy...Bille Jaffe said it best after today loss....I even said it on a post yesterday... I honestly feel next season is the season to finally wake up! The "Kid Line" is useless in scoring...if everyone rememebers this is the line that was going to chip in the goals....maybe next year. Get the first F-ing line next year (new guys) let them play 2nd line and then use the ones that are left for the 3rd and 4th....enough of this lossing s--hit....and maybe Garth should go or wake up!

Jaffe, Rose, you guys should ST FU ! You whining little sissys.
A disgrace !!! End of conversation.

BTW 52 shots doesn't mean a damn thing if one of them doesn't get the back of the net.
Maybe they shouldn't have skated around in pre game with their old uniforms. I would be imbarassed if I was one of the Bore of Fore.
Take my jersey of BI TCHES ! LMAO

Not one playoff series win since 1993. The 4 stripe patch on the shoulder of the uniforms. The Islanders have to stop living in the past. Start building towars the future. give the fans some hope that better days are ahead. As an Islander fan, I also wouldn't blame the franchise if they relocated. The Colisieum is outdated and Nassau County has been not willing to replace it any time soon. The best case scenerio for Islander fans at this point would be if the Nets complete the barkley's Center in Brooklyn and the Islanders relocate to Brooklyn because Nassau County will continue to not go forward with a new arena.
