Is it my imagination or are the officials trying to help Pittsburg? The two goalie interference calls in overtime were terrible calls and wouldn't be made during the first period of a regular season game. These calls certainly shouldn't be made during an overtime period in the Stanley Cup finals. Do the officials hate the Redwings? Are they being paid off? Is the NHL trying to extend the playoff? Was the highstick different than the one that Lindstrom took in game 3? Was the corkscrew given to Holmstrom during game 3 a penalty? Holmstrom was injured by this move and sat out the rest of game 3 and all of game 4. Let's try playing the game 5 on 5 instead of 7 on 5 with two of the Pittsburg players given whistles and striped shirts!

ooooooooooooooooh BURN!!! |

Like I say, O'Halloran and McReary hate the Wings. If they officiate Thursday we're in for a long game!

I thought it was an awesome game. Yes the officials suck. But the Wings will come out winners anyway. I mean we outshot them by a long shot. But just hold on as the Wings will do it!!!
GO WINGS!!! |

Its pretty common knowledge that the Pens are the "darlings" of the NHL higher ups. They want Crosby to win, just look at the officiating in this series. As for what you mentioned, it is impossible to see every high stick or thing like that, it happens both ways, Hudler's however was blatana, drew blood and was in plain site of the ref, definitely the right call there. |

I totally agree. Who calls b.s. like that in overtime? Seriously... |

If you missed this game, you missed a good one. Even though the outcome wasn't where we would have liked it, the time on the ice and the persistance of both teams really made it a game to remember. Early in the game, Pittsburg had 6 guys playing on the ice. I wonder how long that went on before the refs caught it? That would take the wind out of any team starting a game.

I mean Wednesday

I myself thought it was a good, hard playing game on both sides. The Penguins came out looking like a team that was going for the Cup, while on the other hand, the Wings looked sluggish and over-confident to start, then kicked it up when they needed to.
Now, with that being said, lets look at the ref's calls AND no-calls. Pittsburgh had too many men on the ice = no call. Maltby was standing still, Orpik ran into him and took a dive = Penalty for Detroit. The "incidental" contact when Helm took a knee to knee hit when he wasnt even looking = no call? Cleary's goalie interference when he was actually driving to the net WITH the puck = penalty for Detroit? Where was he to go? Hudlers high stick was legit, but if you watched the game, just seconds before that, a Red Wing was tripped with a stick = no call? And earlier there was a slue foot made by a Penguin on a Red Wing = no call? I mean, come on...fair is fair for both sides I always thought. Especially when there are PROFFESIONAL refferees. Dont get me wrong, the Penguins came out playing with a purpose. But they won the game because of terrible, no...HORRIBLE officiating. Just turns my stomach the more I think about it. And yes, I am a huge Red Wing fan, but horrible calls and blatant no-calls should upset ANY hockey fan. I seriously think there should be some kind of investigation about the officiating. RED WINGS IN 6 !!! |

hope it goes 7 so i can watch the wings hoist the cup while downing beers at my favorite sports bar on Saturday night. Then me and my drunken friends will go tip some cars over or something booyah
|
||||
It will go 7 and you will watch the Penguins hoist the cup while drowning your sorrows at the local hole in the wall dive. On the way home you will be pulled over by the police and receive a DUI and spend the night in jail. |
||||
Do you do palm readings as well? |
||||
Yes, focus on the officials. I hope the Detroit players do too! Don't focus on how the Wings played in slow motion in the first period and gave up two goals. Don't focus on how the Wings have a tough time getting the puck past Flurey. Focus on how the league wants the Pens to win and how much certain referees hate Detroit! |
