Red Wings rush toward repeat, rout Penguins 5-0

Full story: Athens Banner-Herald

The Detroit Red Wings sure don't look tired now. After watching their two-game lead in the Stanley Cup finals disappear in Pittsburgh, the defending champions returned to the friendly confines of Joe Louis Arena and blew away the supposedly fresher Penguins 5-0 in Game 5 on Saturday night.

and now you see why the "ALMIGHTY DETROIT RED WINGS are the defending STANLEY CUP CHAMPIONS! it never seems to change, the little penguins see that the ALMIGHTY DETROIT RED WINGS are clearly going to win the game (and the cup) so they start to goon it up. for those of you that don't understand let me make myself a little more clear. brooks (GOON) orpik is NOT a nhl defenseman by any means, all he is out on the ice for is too be a GOON. your team has two (2) >MAYBE< three (3) players that are threats to find the back of the net, crosby (if he can stop whining and crying, malkin (if things are going his way) and talbot (if he feels like it) other than that the pens have NO DEFENSE, have no scoring,(other than mentioned above) and have made their way into the playoffs two years in a row!!!!! going through weaker, and lesser teams to build confidence and make it into the finals where they get slammed by "THE ALMIGHTY DETROIT RED WINGS" i have one last comment to make... GO WINGS!!!!

There go those "old and tired" Wings kicking ass all over the ice again. LOL. The funny part is that they're not even that old of a team anymore! Chelios is the oldest and he's not even playing. Lidstrom is 39. WE have one or two other guys in their mid 30's and that's it! Everyone else is pretty young.

With Ozzie's assist last night he's only 2 points behind Crosby in the series!

Damn Redwings. I hate 'em as much as I hate the Yankees. And the Lakers. And the Patriots.

Wow, I hate perennial winners. I need to re-examine why I root for losers.

In the meantime, go Padres, go Nuggets, go Avalanche, and go Chargers. May you all do fairly well, and still regularly fail to win the big one.

Why does the hierarchy of hockey insist on going head to head with the NBA finals? Just like last thursday night, no game monday or wednesday, but tuesday night at the same time as the NBA. Its no wonder Bettman can do no better than the Versus network....i love the Redwings, but really wonder about the leadership of the NHL....
