I heard the anthem last night and it was horrible. I have heard other ones besides ours which rocks. And No I have never been to a game in Nashville. I would rather go to finland for the home opener next year rather than Nashville. And I never said that the Preds were a AHL team just a team that should not be located in Nashville. Comeon a hockey team in Nashville???? That makes no sense, I think Hartford should have a team before Nashville. And if the Preds were so great then why did Forsberg want to get out of there??
Remember one thing, Chicago has alot of sports and people did not support the Hawks when Dollar Bill owned the team. People were mad but then again you would not understand that cause you are not from Chicago. Also I would think that there are plenty of people that live in Nashville to fill a hockey rink, or are there only 16k people left there?
Tim we have a couple cities up here that would kill for an NHL team. Hamilton,Quebec City, Winnipeg for starters. We have a guy here that has more money the he knows what to do with and every time he trys to buy a team Bettman turns it down.I agree with you about Nashville, why in heavens name did the NHL put a team there.

Sidney Crosby will NOT play in tonights game versus the Islanders, due to the groin issue, but part of me is wondering if that decision is a league preference, so that he WILL be ready to play on Friday in Chicago, given the fact that the Hawks have been getting a bit of a "PUSH" this season from the NHL. I am also wondering if the Hawks will attract their highest attendance on Friday, from the multitudes who would like to see him play in person, that haven't thus far. But Sid or not, if the Hawks take the Pens lightly, we'll get spanked AGAIN !!! Enough of this losing crap !!! And to those Huet disencharmers out there, he is NOT the problem; he is used to a particular schedule of play this season, and has recently been asked to do more, given Khabbi's IR status. There's NO EXCUSE; Antti Niemi should have played this past weekend; no ifs ands or butts. END OF STORY !!!
If Crosby was fit to play you would have to chain him to a seat some where to keep him out of the game. The guy is a serious competitor.

BFM is right we all have our own opinions and reguardless if we are right, wrong or go off on a rant we don't rip each other's heads off or issue ultimatiums. Now when there is some idiot from the home town of the team we just played and are trying to give us crap then we go after that person. Now WrecksAlwaysSux what is the deal with being down on the Hawks?? Campbell was the TOP coveted defenseman in the entire NHL last year. Just cause he is not playing like certain people want we jump on his case and say he is MIA in the playoffs? Campbell will prove himself when the playoffs start. He had one bad series last year but so did the entire Sharks team.
I think the more pressing need for the Hawks is a centerman that can win faceoffs. That is what the Hawks need, I feel that they are good when it comes to the defense. Campbell, Keith Seabrook are all great dmen.
Amen bro!!!

Like I said, not everyone will agree with me about Huet. The main reason I want him traded is so we can keep Khabbi. No way they are going to go with two multi-million dollar goalies again next year. And don't forget, Tallon was ready to let Khabbi walk away THIS year, and he certainly won't resign him next year since his butt is linked to Huet for next 3 1/2 years.
You say other GMs wanted Huet too, so Tallon shouldn't take any heat for signing him. I think the heat should be on Tallon for trying to dump Khabbi including trying to ship him to the Russian KHL. Do you really think we would be playoff bound with Huet and Niemmi or Crawford in net. Huet is a good goalie, but Khabbi is much much better. And I have been a Khabbi supporter since he came here. He did have an annoying habit of letting in 2 or 3 goals in the first period the last couple of years, but he wasn't playing with the kind of team defense he has now. He looks incredibly sharp this year.
I wish Huet well. I hope they trade him, but I also hope they don't trade him to Nashville. Nobody should have to live in Tennessee!!

During the Dallas game, I was watching the Dallas feed. The announcers were very complimentary of the Hawks defence, and predicted it is likely to be the best in the league in a couple years as the younger guys get a bit more experience. They also were talking up Campbell's play.

So it's not just Hawk fans that like our blue liners.

I would also like to see a good, experienced center brought in. Be great if we could get one in a trade, but free agent would be fine, too.

We'll have a good time in the playoffs this year, but young teams rarely win the Cup, and I don't think this year is any different. The Hawks will learn a lot down the stretch, and in this year's playoffs. Some of that learning will be through losses like Nashville. There's a reason coaches hate 2-goal leads.

I don't see where Khabi is off the IR. Maybe Niemi will play against Peoria tonight and come right back?

Yes. Without a doubt I do think that. Not that I don't love Khabby, because I do, but think of how much more cap space the Hawks would have to work with if Khabby was dealt at the beginning of the season. I don't think we would have a problem at the center position if that had been the case. I think that we would be in at least the same position we are in now, if not challenging for the top two spots in the West. Just my opinion.

Winnipeg Jets! If I remember right, they had reasonably cool sweaters. What happened to them? Didn't some decent downside Hawks play out their careers there? I might be mixing them with the Whalers, for some unknown reason.

Winnipeg Jets became Phoenix Coyotes. Hartford became Carolina Hurricanes. Nice site with NHL history:

Paul, glad to see you here. I can't believe the idiot from TN trying to slam us. They should have another team in Canada, and I still miss the Hartford Whalers. Ok so it is a cool name and funky logo they had. I just think that there are several teams in cities that have no right being there.
