That's it?? a one for one trade and exchange draft picks. I thought Campbell was going to be such great trade material... Did we elimiate a bounch of teams to keep him out of our conferance? Seems like a major coup for San Jose to me. Sabres blow another one!

Tom galisano has no pedigree in hockey--we will be competitive to keep the house full but never go over the top--Sabres fan should send a message to management that their penchant for botton line is enough. Golisano should sell the team to someone who will be committed to winning not just fleecing the fans in buffalo.

This stinks big time!!!!! Not only does this set Buffalo further away from aquiring the "cup" but it tears apart the team even more...two mistakes not signing Brierre or Drury now a 3rd mistake letting Campbell go as well....

How immature of a decision the front office of the sabres has made. All the guy was asking for was a 6-7 year contract.

All he was asking for was 6 or 7 years, not the 3 years that he was offered. We could waste $7 million *PLUS* per year on Vanek (who shouldn't even have all those goals since all he does is stand by the net and half the time blocks the shot from going in) but we couldn't give a player, who actually works hard, a few more years? And we give him up so easily for a no-name and a draft pick??? Darcy doesn't care about how the team does anymore...all he's worried about it money.

why he wanted to stay he even said it. tom just dosnt want to spend his money on making the sabres a good team any more. He only cares about his money and himself not about his teammates or this community just himself.

This is as good a move as could be made. The Sabres could not run the risk of losing Campbell to free agency, like the nightmare of last season. Bernier is a strong young power forward who can make things happen physically. I look forward to seeing what he can do for us.

Good riddance. How much money is enough for these prima donna's. I'm sick and tired of feeling sorry for these overpaid athletes when they don't get what they want.

Remember everyone, you cheer for what's on the front of the uniform, not the name on the back.

Wow, Soupy, you really did become a member of this community as well as this team. You will be missed. This is so hard. I wish love and money co-existed in this world, but it does not. You need to think of the future. Wow. Take good care. I wish you all the best!!

Only a 6-7 year contract? Are you people kidding me. Get real. Do any of you have a 6-7 year contract where you work? Do any of you make that kind of money a year, let alone over your entire lifetime.

It's a game people, not real life.

the 3 stooges, larry, tom and darcy are at it again.lets make sure we sign toni i don't hit anyone and alex what color our shirts again, to at least 3 years again. why get a draft choice anyway, you have no scouting dept. to check them out.

Soupy You'll really be missed all the community stuff you did was great. To the true buffalo fans it shouldn't matter that you will be gone . what matters its that we will keep your legacy of helping people will stay alive here in the city. You will be greatly missed here. Take care

I agree the Sabres let another get away that could of gotten us to the cup but no management once again just wanted to fill there pockets a little deeper. Let's forget the fans who are, hard working, loyal fans that fill the seats every game looking for that one hope one of our sports teams will bring home the big one. Then mgmt says were confident we will make the playoffs, make the playoffs sure but not making it to the top once again. It's always nice to sit back and watch the players we give away always win the big one with other teams. Great move once again Buffalo!
