Good luck with Carter...I've seen him do a lot of "floating" around in his time with the Flyers.

Com'n Carter. You're being dwelt to a team that needs your services. Make us cheer again. Show the Jacket fans what you can do. Take your anger out on the rest of the NHL. But you have to report first.

Let's be honest here, if you were Guy Boucher and you had an opportunity to coach players like St. Louis, Lecavalier, Stamkos, and Hedman, would you turn a chance down to coach those guys and go to Columbus that had one perennial all-star in Nash? I'm feeding to your point, Hunter, but I also think that Carter will be a true pro and eventually that orange and black that flows in his veins will turn Union Blue and Red over time...a la Umberger. This franchise is taking steps in the right direction, frustratingly enough after ten years, but let's right the ship and get behind them, the 7th man goes a long ways in turning things around...the players, coaches, and front office would definitely agree with that.

More negatives! First, if Howson says he didn't talk to Chicago about Campbell, I believe him. Campbell plays soft and is extremely expensive; he doesn't seem like a person Howson would go after. Second, the reason he waived his no trade was because Dale Tallon, GM in Florida is the genius who was GM in Chicago and signed Campbell to that obese contract! So, they have a connection; and you should have pointed that out! As to Boucher, you act like he had two equal opportunities and snubbed Columbus; wrong! Tampa was losing, but has a strong core, they have won the cup, they have a new GM (Eyserman) who belongs to the good old boy network and can get deals we can't right now; like calling St Louis and getting Brewer for something like a third round draft pick! It would have cost us a first and a player. AND, they are in Florida! If you have ever been to Fla. in winter, all you see is Canadian license plates; they love FLA.! So, for a Canadian with a chance to go to Fla. and the difference in the teams, it was obvious what he would do. Stop making it a put down on Columbus because he went to Tampa! And as for Carter, it doesn't look good the way he is behaving, but he was shocked; he was signed long term and was dug in in Philly; he was lied to in his face and instead of being in his cushy job in Philly with his black book full of party girls, he gets a ticket to Columbus; there he will have to start another date book and go to work on the ice. He was a cog in the Philly machine and now they've changed gears and he's out and he's pissed. He will get over it; We have got a lot if he comes here and plays hard; and after he's done pouting, I think he will; he knows he will have to punch in and start grinding again and he didn't expect to have to do that; well, he does... Welcome to Columbus, Jeff!

Here's hoping the team plays with the chip on their shoulders that the fans are going to have.

None of the other business ticked me off like Carter is ticking me off. Boucher should have gone to Tampa. It was the better job at the time. If Howson adamantly says that there is no truth to the Campbell rumors then we have to take him at his word.

But there is being ticked at being traded and then there is the point where you are hurting you new team. Get over it Carter. You have 5 million reasons to love Columbus. Quit acting like a 3 year old.

If Carter wants to stay in Philly, retire from hockey. I am sure that a high school graduate in Philly can make $15 or $20 an hour, maybe more if he tutors hockey.

Carter get a life.

Hopefully, we'll get to see what an honest effort Carter looks like. I think he'll find it a lot harder to get an all-star tag in the Western Conference.

Carter, young, rich and a partier, has been living the good life in Philly. Now his bubble has burst and he'll have to leave everything he loves to play hockey in Columbus! I'm a flyer's fan and have always been bothered by the number of wild shots he takes. His 10% scoring on shots is just about the lowest in the league. He has to pass more to be a complete player. If he can mature and play with " a chip on his shoulder" he can be a great player.

People, it has been 4 days. Chill. Carter will be fine. Nash and RJ will make him love playing here. All will be good. Now relax.

As for Campbell, if he did indeed use his NTC on the CBJ, we are better off for it anyway. However, given the spending flexibility of this team, there is no way they were looking to trade for him. This rumor has to be one of the dumbest in a good while.

As the Jeff Carter saga moves to Act II, I'm beginning to wonder if Jeff has been displaying this childish, pouty, "I have to have my own way" temper tantrum behavior and this caused him to wear out his welcome in Philly and they traded him because they were tired of it. Just wondering.

ryan I hope you have it right; we need his skill here. With what Howson has put in the pipeline, we are only going to get better and better. He can be the hero who came in after Nash stayed with us and give us a major push; in fact there are only a hand full of players in the NHL who could do so; come on, Jeff, get over here and make a name for yourself; we love Rick and RJ, but we have big hearts and there's room in there for you too!

underrated night life eh? Carter will fit in just fine then...he'll be partying until 2:30 am on a game day.

Carter was rarely a guy that would take charge on the ice. He scored goals because he played on great scoring lines. As a Flyer fan, rarely did I see him dominate and take over games as a supposed first line center should do. The guy was a complete no show during the playoffs every single year as well. If Columbus expects to get a franchise player in return, I think they’ll be vastly disappointed. Put him on a line with Nash and he’ll score 30+ again – but when push comes to shove he’ll be the same no show that he was in Philly.

If he takes us to the playoffs i will be happy. We can worry about him showing up in the playoffs later. We NEED playoff hockey in Columbus. Lets do this

Who doth profane the hockey speak by mentioning "Eyserman"? Steve Yzerman, certainly one of the greatest hockey players of modern history and a great GM as well. And Canadian plates abound in Tampa during the winter because some people just can't stand the -25 or so of Quebec in the winter. As for Stevie Y, Florida over British Columbia in the winter is probably a comfy choice!

Fans: start screaming "Let's go Jackets" now and welcome Mr. Carter to Columbus. Most places are not that far from here.
