no matter what sport, no matter how many players that are NOT from buffalo come into buffalo to play, it's ALWAYS the SAME STATEMENT BEFORE THEY LEAVE, which ALWAYS BEGINS WITH-- "well, i really don't want to leave buffalo, BUT---", and that is followed usually by something like--"but they won't pay all the money in the world--they won't bankrupt themselves to make me rich and retire after i turn 26-- i want to play where the money is"--and all of buffalo keeps hoping these non-buffalonians will suddenly decide to play for pretty much NOTHING--these people have shown buffalo time and again their "true colors", they've shown buffalo what they're REALLY "loyal" to-- AND IT'S NOT BUFFALO!!!!--MEANWHILE--there are TONS OF TALENTED HIGH-SCHOOL/COLLEGE ATHLETES FROM BUFFALO/W.N.Y. who DREAM about playing for buffalo--only to be pooh-poohed by owners(NOT FROM BUFFALO, BY THE WAY)who only think with their wallets. they and buffalo keep trying to buy loyalty when you SHOULD BE MANUFACTURING IT NATURALLY IN YOUR OWN BACKYARD SO THAT BUFFALO CAN REAP THE REWARDS BY HAVING THEM PLAY FOR BUFFALO.
about brian campbell---you know, the hockey team COULD HAVE TRADED HIM TO st.louis and got LEE STEMPNIAK and some draft choices. YOU WOULD HAVE HAD SOME GUARANTEED SEASON TICKET HOLDERS to help keep money in buffalo, instead, you get someone NOT FROM BUFFALO, who, in 5 years, will be saying the same going-away statement that buffalo has come to know and love--"well, i really don't want to leave buffalo, BUT----"
there was an article a couple of weeks back about college hockey players FROM BUFFALO/W.N.Y. playing for colleges AWAY FROM BUFFALO. the hockey people SHOULD BE MAKING EVERY ATTEMPT TO GET THESE PLAYERS INTO BUFFALO. ARE THEY DOING IT?probably not. why should anyone want to support buffalo that way. people say "well, he don't know what he's talking about-- supporting buffalo that way is SO old-fashioned" let's do it the way we've been doing it-- let's tell the kids from buffalo to take a hike-hit the bricks, toots. the sports teams and their fans want you to win a stanley cup for some other poor slob of a city. what does buffalo need with a championship trophy, they'll probably sell it for an out-of-town city anyway.

go sabres ---- and take the bills with you.
