Once again, not ready to play, and down by a goal immediately.

The rest of the night was predictable.

Two wins gets them in the playoffs? That might be a long shot.Dale could regret some decisions on keeping players that could find other teams next year.If Bowman takes over nobody is safe because he has no bond with any of them.

Being a REALIST here....this team is in bad dissarray....Q has lost their focus & can't seem to spin it around....if not so late in the season Q needs to be canned. You can't fire the players you have to fire the coach. Whomever they meet in the playoffs is going to 4 & out them. Go ahead insult me, tell me I'm wrong. It hurts me as a big time Hawk fan to see this promising season come to this but it has. I just can't see them regaining their confidence at this point. It's obvious they're not buying into Q's system. I challenge the kids if they happen to ever read these posts to prove me wrong!! I'd love to get back on here after a playoff win & admit I was wrong but....The truth does hurt sometimes.

Too many thoughts. They know what to do, but they are not executing...no excuse! Coach Q needs to get his A** in gear. This is what you get paid for, to coach these guys out of this, lite a fire under their A**es! All season they have been sloppy in their own end, but previously have been bailed out by scoring, not going to work in the playoffs. Huet's head is once again in the clouds. That dude needs to stop smiling behind his mask or else I am going knock the snot out of him and wipe that smile right off!

What opponents have been doing against us defensively is to crowd the slot area, taking away close shots and passes across the front of the net, from the face off dots in. Most of our recent goals have been from long range. Until we figure out an offence against this we will be in trouble.

You can debate all you want about whether a coach is responsible for motivating professional athletes or whether by the time they reach that level they should be self motivated, but if Savard was held accountable for a "flat" camp and first 4 games of the season (in the big picture, right now, how insignificant does that feel?) then Q must be held accountable for the last month or so. Over that period, the team has more often than not been the very definition of flat, the PP and PK have gone right down the crapper (try advancing in the playoffs when they're not clicking!) We are broken and time is running out to make the necessary repairs. If this makes me Chicken Little, so be it. There have been teams that have stumbled into the playoffs and then done well once they got there, but not many.
I'm not going to pretend I ever liked Q. Not in St. Louis. Not in Colorado. And not here. But you know what? They're my team and he's my coach and I'm pulling as hard as anybody for them to get out of this funk and find that swagger they had earlier this year.

With the exception of one poster, to this point, the guys who only come out of the woodwork after a loss, are here to take a dump.

As to the regulars, notice that we dominate the other team in most every aspect and then, for ten seconds at a time, we have lapses and they score. Can't you smell the conspiracy. "Sharp" isn't, Havlat passes off when he has an open shot, Toews moves around the back of the net instead of curling in front and stuffing it, etc.

Home ice isn't everything and neither is a winning streak.

Listen to Toews and tell me you think this team doesn't know what's going on: "I couldn't count how many times we gave the puck away in the neutral zone. We need to help each other a little bit more."

This, too, shall pass.

"They're OUR kids, damnit!"

I made the point some games ago that it appears the team isnt buying into coach Q. This team is never ready to play. All year its been this way. Especially "big games" or am I over evaluating the importance of all these games since the deadline?

Ill say it again and get jumped on for it but why did we trade for Pahlsson? On paper and in theory it was a good trade but this guy just does not fit with this team and the players here. He has stomach problems, back spasms, mono,no offense, slow, and Ive yet to see him win a draw.(decent board work though)
This team keeps saying this guy has world class offense yet I heard the same thing about Christian Ruuttu.

The trade deadline killed this team and the cheerleading shills on versus said the same thing.(those guys were unlistenable last night. the hawks were an after thought to them while praising the Habs all night)
I dont want to hear how Wiz is a ufa and Pahlsson is a defensive specialist and thats what we needed, Ive already heard the arguments.
An offensive center would have been a better fit and dont tell me about assets and the cap. There are over 120 different centermen that we could have traded for that werent sick and slow and right now we need offense or would people disagree that Havlat is our only weapon and most likely leaving?
Dale Tallon is a "professional" g.m. that really screwed up.
Anybody see Kostitsyn headbutt Johnson in the fight? Not as bad as hair pulling except Johnson didnt have his helmet on.
no offense sami, i know its not your fault im just really frustrated with this team right now.

The first goal by Huet was really bad. All he had to do was stand there.
Worst/softest goal all year counting all the five hole gaffs hes had.
morale killer if ever.
im focused on the negative. did anybody see anything positive last night?

Ouch. That one hurt. Luckily, my five year old daughter stopped recording the game so she could record 6Teen without my knowing it. I only had to suffer through half the game but it was enough.

Bad game, Bad month...OH WELL. Has this team not proved that it can win?! It baffles me that we could have such fair weather (Cub) fans on this thread!!

There are 82 games to the season. A team (regardless of the veteran experience) is going to have atleast a stretch of games, or month where struggles, line juggling, and injuries occur. Get over it.

Would we rather have them play fantastic and have these whoas when they get to the first round of the playoffs? NO.

This team has been getting its scoring chances, and continuing to skate well. The have made bad mental errors that have caused losses. Mental errors can be fixed, the skill is there.

2 weeks left, and a whole ton of divisional games left. Right the ship at home, get on a roll, see where the rest of this season takes us. REGARDLESS, this season has been a success and this team is moving in the right direction.

COMMIT TO THE INDIAN.

I'm going to take a baseball bat to a piece of furniture very soon. I just heard (second hand but from a reliable source) Brian Campbell say "I guess we haven't figured out we need to show up every game and play 60 minutes yet". Maybe somebody from the Hawks front office should let me know before I pay for next years season tickets when they're going to pass out "Professional Sports- 101" to the players. I hear crap like that and it makes my blood boil!!!!

I agree with Dan, the tread deadline killed this team, I will say it again, James Wisnieski is a lot better than Keith, somebody here told me that Keith was better, well I watched him closely and I completely disagree, this guy make too many turnovers, just look at the first goal last night. Wizz was also a leader in the locker room, what a bad trade, you can say whatever you want, this is the truth. Huet is a choker, time to put Khabibulin for the rest of the season.

Hang in there boys. At least the Hawks were not shut out . Anything can happen as the string is played out. Predictions about the playoffs are pure speculation. Everyone has an opinion. My thought coming from the Goalie's Union: We need a healthy Khabby to carry us on his shoulders.

USMCVet: That is not a smile coming from Huet. It's one of those goalie quirks, a facial habit (a grimace type thing) to help concentration. Khabby blinks his eyes, some guys talk to themselves or even shake their heads a bit. All to concentrate a bit better. Believe me, he is not grinning.
