For those folks who honestly think this team has a future on Long Island - I say put the crack pipe down. It's clear to me that this teams wants out of here and is doing nothing to motivate fans to want to visit the coliseum to watch good hockey- That's what this is about- HOCKEY- The Devils have the nicest new arena in the league and the place is half full every night- Give up on the team already because eventually you'll be forced to because they wont be here anymore- Dream on if you think you'll ever the Lighthouse-

It is fun watching the organazation fail completely but why would any isles fan or rangers fan want the team to move. It would end one of the greatest rivalries in hockey. The Devils are a good team but they get very boring to watch post- Sean Avery. You also realize that team rides Zach Parise and Marty Brodeur for the last 3 years. If both left the Devs that team would be just as bad as the Isles. I hate the Islanders and always will, but why would anyone want them to move to Kansas City

But seriuosly, I expected 25 wins from this team for the year, a little more than twice as much as 1972 (12 wins), and about 50+ points. Anything more than thht is gravy. We are re-re-re-re-starting all over again, patince Islander fans, don't take too much from this year.
You have the right attitude Russell, I agree with you. It's disappointing when you watch the games but it's like watching a long-term stock investment every single day and being disappointed in this current market.
It's not about what they do today on the ice, it's about 2-3 years from now.

Maybe we should make one whole line a healthy scratch and bring up one complete line from bridgeport to show how it's done? It's a crazy thing to do but what the hell.
I'll take it one step further: Do a total switcharoo with Bridgeport and see if the SoundTigers can compete in 2-3 NHL games. Equally valuable would be to see if this Isles team can compete at the AHL level.

I must say, I thought they finished the 1st period strong and then played a very good 3rd period last night. Still, they have to be one of the worst passing teams...they just throw the puck around to areas of the ice instead of to where their teammates are. Hard to develop plays like that.

Something's gotta give...it can't continue like this- Garth, do something, anything- Bring back Nolan, sign Avery, make a trade....DO SOMETHING !
I agree with you. Beg Ted Nolan to come back and run this team and what the heck, make an offer to Sean Avery. He'll put people in the seats and I think Nolan can handle him.

Anything's worth a shot at this point.
