Brilliant move putting McDonald in net. What happened to playing the hot hand? Why wasn't this joke of a coach asked why he didn't play Danis? Were the writers afraid he would yell at them again? Gordon is terrible and needs to be replaced immediately. However, I do see a good reason to keep him if we want the opportunity to land Tavares. Otherwise, fans should be lobbying for his removal.

It really was a stupid move not going with Yann.I guess we really are going for the first pick overall.

Thought we were going to catch Atlanta there for a second. Good move putting Rusty McD in the pipes.

We all would prefer Danis to be in net, but this was actually a good game for MacDonald to get some action. It really doesn't make a difference for the Isles this year, there's no chance at the playoffs and Danis will start against the Lightning this weekend.
What I'm really excited about is seeing Nate Thompson take a rest. Gordon should move Park to Center the 4th line and bring Kurtis McLean back up from Bridgeport to play with Hunter/Nielsen. That guy showed us some good stuff last week. I think he could be a full-timer on this team.
Great to see Bailey have winning faceoff % and collect 2 good points.

MacD should have never been put in, terrible move on Gordon's part. Joey hasn't won in how many games? I can't beleive so many support him. I think he has more to prove. Danis should be number 1 if he continues to win and come up with the big saves to keep the team in the games.

Islander fans change their minds probably more than they change their own underwear- It was only two weeks ago before the Islanders finally beat the Ducks and got on a little roll, fans were killing Yann Danis...now he's the next coming of Marty Brodeur-

Earlier in the season, Isles had a three-goal lead, very quickly cut down to one -- and Gordon didn't call a timeout. They lost the game. And last night going with MacDonald...stupid. He may have a system, but he sure has no feel.

McDonald starts and we lose....again. Rule #1: Never mess with a winning streak! Gordon is doing a fine job but tonight he should have stuck with Danis. Not only has Danis outperformed McDonald, but the Islanders have played better when he starts. Why try to fix something that isn't broken? I'm not buying the "Well we have to get Andy back in game shape" bit either. Why??? McDonald has only proven to play just well enough to lose nearly every game he has ever started. Danis has played better. Why not go with Danis until he proves he can't handle the starting job? I truly do not understand this move. Someone please explain.

Okposo was off last night. If even one of his three one timer attempts hadn't gone wide on the short side, the game might've had a different result.

I don't fully blame MacDonald, but Danis should've started. This was not the second game of a back-to-back or anything.

There's plenty of experienced NHLcoaches out there who are out of work- There's plenty of experienced coaches out there who would take the Islanders coaching job if the Islanders were willing to pay the price that comes with having an experienced coach which is why they opted for a no experience, work for peanuts minor league coach- You get what you pay for....end of story- We all know the drill-

Just read on that garbage site, Hockey buzz, that Eklund is reporting that the Isles franchise is up for sale for $100MM. So Isle fans, there is hope. 99.99% of whatever Eklund says turns out to be false, so you can rest assured that the Lighthouse project will be approved.

I believe the front office/Gordon are looking at one of these two guys as being the #2 next year.

I agree-Danis should of started but the season is over as far as the playoffs. Im not a big fan of Joey Macy either...but he desreves a fair chance. So get him in game shape and let him and Danis play out the season competing against each other for the #2 spot...maybe #1 if twinkle toes ever gets healthy.
DP-Im rooting for you but you fragile man....

At the first of the season Danis was a bum, The team plays well for 4 games in a row and Danis is Patty Roy. If the team gave the effort for Joey Mac this entire year as they have for Danis over the past 4 games, Mac's numbers would be far superior, just look at the first few games. Mac's numbers better the even #39's WOW. Islanders should have Ricky traded by the end of the year.
