Islebe, I hear your anger and I hated trading Luongo but it's time to move on. They've cut ties with Bates, Hilbert is an AHL player and Park is nothing more than a 4th line penalty killer. I agree with you. But Okposo, Comeau, Bergenheim and Tambellini are a nice young base to start. Too many games last year Comeau was the best Isle on the ice and in his 9 games Okposo was everywhere the puck was. From what i've read Baily has turned heads and a few prospects have fared well with the canadian team. The talent is there, will they develop into nhl players? who knows, but i know i'd rather see these guys breaking their a**es every shift then some guy in his 30's playing out his career with the only team willing to give him a contract. And having guys like a Guerin and Weight to learn from, even if only for a year, can only help them mature into better players. We hope.

Who cares. Garth Snow and Charles Wang have no clue what they're doing. They run the head office like a good ol' boys club. As far as they're concerned the fans (i.e., the customers) are an after-thought and are often treated as such (ever try interfacing with the front office?). I'm more interested in the day the current regime packs their bags and heads off the Island and we get management that's truly interested in the fan base.

You're right. Let's go back to really great owners like the Milstein/Gluckstern partnership. Oh. Wait. That's right. They su cked.
Hey. Let's go back to Spano. Oh. Wait. He was even worse.
Maybe we could try the "gang of four" that began the long string of poor seasons? Oh. That's right. They weren't so great either.

The truth is that it's been a long time since the days when O'Pickett owned the team and was truly interested and involved in running it well. The sad truth is that Wang is the best owner since O'Pickett and there's no ownership prospect out there with promise to be better.

It's really not worth your time or anybody else's to keep bashing Wang. He bought into a huge money losing prospect. He didn't know hockey and he's made plenty of mistakes but it's not like the team has much of a chance for anyone better. I'm so tired of hearing the bashing of Snow and Wang.

...and to the moron who says to blame Wang instead of Milbury - Wang listened to just about everything that Milbury told him in those first few years. He took Milbury's word as hockey gold and allowed Milbury to destroy the team. Yes, Wang is partly at fault for allowing it but actually trying to say Milbury was not the biggest problem is absolute lunacy.

Wake up people...Before you can say you are going to build with youth you actually have to have those youths that you can build with...Saying you are going to build through the draft is a nice way of saying we plan on being horrible for a long time. Chris Campoli jersey anyone... How many games before he gets hurt and is out for the season??? At least we have Andy Hilbert, Bates, & Richard Park...Whewwwww that makes me feel better...
BTW We all know the real reason Richard Park is an Islander...dont we???
Imagine if we didnt trade Luongo & Olli Jokinen & drafted Heatley instead of DP...Thats what I called a "youth movement"
Dont blame Mad Mike for that...Chucky Wang approved all those moves...
So tell us all why Park is an Islander? All your comments are extremely negative. You are probably one of those guys who constantly puts a team down until they start winning & then you will be the 1st wuss jumping back on the bandwagon. Give the team a damn chance & quit your whining. If you want to keep whining go to the Blueskirt forum. They welcome whiners with open legs.

Dont you get it??? Laviolette and Nolan are gone because they had egos... That usually goes with being a successful coach...No room for egos in Charles Wang's world.(except his)
Same reason why Torts wouldnt make it here...And the reason why the backup goalie was made GM...Who will challenge Chucky boy least will get the gig...
Your kidding me!! Our biggest ego is #39 who will be with us for many years to come. This is also another reason why FA do not want to sign here. Firstly, his subpar play for years to come will deter players away.
Secondly, he is now calling the shots because he is the foundation of the islanders. I honestly wish this bozo red-light j-off would show how his injuries and below average performance will no longer be tolerated by the NYI!Remember everyone is placing him onto this elite playing stage with the likes of Smith, Roy, and Brodeur...I wish we could give him this title, but it will never happen!!

You're absolutely right- DiPietro has done NOTHING to be considered a top NHL goaltender.

Yes it was Mike Milbury's fault you moron. You wanna blame wang for things, thats fine, I do the same, but the most blame u can put on in this organizations history is Mike Milbury. Not up for debate.
