Guerin why don't you stop whining about a hit and worry about your teams performance ???
It is clearly obvious that Neilson decided to try and avoid the hit and when he did his ankle got caught in a rut, causing him at the last second to start going down which in turn changed the angle of where the hit was supposed to take place.
Thank god I was watching the Devils broadcast and didn't have to listen to the biggest whiner of all Billy Jokefee.
But Frog eyes Guerin is just whing. Spare us Billyboy..
I am sure you will see plenty of "fans" dispute this, but then again, you really don't know much about hockey, you just listen to what Jokefee cries about.

Wolf, you have to be one of the most ignorant "people" ever to post a public comment. The sport is called hockey. If you want to see flying elbows to the head, go watch WWE or MMA. Educate yourself you tool.

Wolf-you are a tool bag. He still was hit in the head. Are you actually saying the hit didnt cause his skate to be caught under him?
You might think you know a thing or two about hockey-but your comments clearly shows you never played the game before.

If Pock was suspended-that hit deserves at least a 5 gamer...and an azzz kicking. He'll get his before the season ends. Gordon is going to pick the right moment...on the Island.

gordon didnt want fritz in cold? how much of a warm up do u need when you're 6-8 to fight a guy? the 3 seconds on the ice it takes for you to find his # is sufficient if you ask me. Mottau is out there on the PP late in the game thats frtiz time to come out and grab him and beat his FREAKING teeth into his skull like eric cairns would have done!! Gordon bitched out.

Michael-I was thinking the same thing last night...but I have changed my mind this morning.
Now Mottau has to think about the azzzzz kicking coming his way. I would like to believe Gordon is picking and choosing his battles. One thing is for sure-Mottau will get his...

if fritz is gonna play 2:30 and get zero ice time after one of your BEST prospects is head hunted in such a manner, he has no business being on the team in the first place. bring up trevor smith or comeau or colliton. someone who will actually play.

gordon has been begging for his players to be cheap shotted all year with his pacifist behavior and he finally got what he wanted last night. what kind of crappy coach would let his players skate around in the nhl unprotected??

I hate to disagree with a fellow Isles fan-but I am about to. His ability to coach a team should have nothing to do with him smiling. What Gordon has done in a short period of time is worthy of a "good job". Gordon is still learning the abilites of his players. Nolan was a decent coach-but he gave us Simon and a defensive way to play the game. Personally I like the attacking style Gordon has brought-be patient its going to take some time.
The shame of it is this-the Isles are starting to show progress - then they lay an egg like last night-to make matters worst-Frans gets taken out be a cheap shot. Trent Hunter sticks up for the guy and gets a 10 minute game misconduct. The NHL is different...you cant just go out there beating up guys.

I agree why have someone on the bench and NOT play him, beyond my comprehension, but then I have seen this too often in the past. As for the hit to the head player stays suspended the same amount of time the player he head hunted is out. West New York? I lived in WNY for over 30 yeras, do I know you? Do you know me?

I am so disappointed in the NHL right now. So much for integrity, so much for fairness, it all went to **** when Colin Campbell did the exact opposite of what his memo said he would do.

Fritz fighting wouldnt change what happened to Nielsen... it wouldnt change the fact that the Isles got a stiffer penalty out of it than the perpetrator... and it wouldnt change the fact that there is simply a different standard of measurement utilized by the NHL in regard to Islanders players. Ask Simon and Pronger about that.

Agree with Guerin 100% about the players needing to respect each other. However -- unfortunately -- in today's society, PEOPLE DON'T RESPECT EACH OTHER ENOUGH. Sadly, that has began to infiltrate hockey.

Your an @hole. Read fool.
His skate got caught , which caused his body to lower, causing the hit to be higher.
