That's that. Time to go completely into the tank and try to get the top pick in the draft. That Taylor Hall is going to be amazing for Edmonton. Columbus needs to finish at the bottom and draft a difference maker at C or D.

But being the Blue Jackets they'll win just enough to screw up the draft yet not make the playoffs.

Nice play last night CBJ. This is a stretch where a team needed to show a little heart and we know the Columbus Tin Men don't have any of that.

Classic Jackets. They go toe to toe with one of the best teams in the league only to follow it up by losing to the worst team in the West. And not just the worst team, but the worst team with the worst powerplay and worst penalty kill, and a depleted roster having traded away Penner and Hemsky out of the lineup with an injury. This should have been like bringing a gun to a knife fight, but instead we give up a powerplay goal and can't convert on 5 powerplays.

No Bob Oller, it is not okay to be optimistic yet.

Unfortunately this year's draft is slated to be a relatively weak year with no clear cut number 1 overall pick. Even if we tank, and win the lottery, it'll still be a craps-shoot given our drafting history.
Thanks Mason

Great job Mason last night, way to cost us the game from the start and letting in two weak goals before being pulled.

This team reminds me alot of columbus, full of losers, constantly in the basement, gets no national coverage, and no matter what it does it never wins!

Still a fan........are you seriously wishing Rusty was still around? He sucked, Upshall if you have actually watched the last two games has been one of the best players on the ice. Last nights game was a complete collapse by Mason, he cost them a win by his poor performance. And if you had actually watched the last 10 - 15 games the team has been playing very well, last night was a letdown and at the worst time possible.

Weakness down the middle shows again. 4 games out with about 16 to play? time to build for next year :(
To be top 8 in the west you need to be strong down the middle our top 2 centers aren't among the best, our goalie certainly isnt among the best and the top defensemen......well who are the top defensemen again?

It's sad, the only player who can score is a (5th round) rookie who's only played 20 NHL games. Mase really came up big. Where's Nash?

First of all,@BobHunter... Why is there an OH following Cincy? Isnt it time for Cincy to officially become part of Kentucky? Good Ridence.
Last night's game in Edmonton was one of the worst performances in Jackets history. One player came to play and he arrived too late, Garon.
Not sure what was worse Mason's positioning or reflexes. Hopefully just an off night, but please give Garon a chance to take the spot and run with it. Work on Mason's confidence in shinny this summer.
Methot, Mackenzie and Clistome looked like American Leaguers, which they are.
I know the trade deadline has passed, but any chance we can rid of Davidge and Rimer. Maybe we can get a bag of pucks or a cup of Timmy's. This five game road trip is killing me and the sync between radio and tv is too far off.
Get em tonight in Calgary with Rivet and Garon getting the start.

Man oh man. What a bunch of whiners you guys are. I don't know where to start. Ok, we have had ONE count them ONE terrible game in the last SIXTEEN! Unfortunately, it came at the worst possible moment. Number two. The minute these guys lose 3 games in a row, all the boo-birds are back out in force. Well @#%$ you guys. Get your [email protected] bandwagon out of here! You are the same guys who will be sitting in a bar after a playoff game one day telling everyone how you supported them during the bad years. B.S. Number three TRADE NASH???? REALLY????? You are just too stupid for words. Nash is at the age where he does nothing but get better over the next few years. Of course in a few days when they've won 2 or 4 more, you'll be back on here telling everyone how great they are. If I can root for these guys from Arizona, you can stifle your whining in their home town.

Reality: They played like doodoo last night.

Are they going to make the playoffs? Most likely not.

Can they finish out the season by playing hard and keeping the games exciting? Heck Yes.

Do I want them to worry about draft position? Heck No. They haven't drafted all that well when they have low picks anyways, why would we think this year would be different.

Now Let's go kick some Flames BUTT!!!!

Mason was not good but he didn't get much help either, if you guys think Garon is going to take the Jackets to the cup think again-Mason does have issues but we need him in this final push.

If you all want the reason the jackets have lost 3 in a row look at the top two lines, other than Calvert none of them could put a puck into swimming pool on this trip if they tried. Vermette on the first line is a joke; the team is missing Brassard badly.

I think the Jackets will win the next two games but it will be difficult to make the playoffs now, it can be done but they have to win at least 13 of the remaining 19.

Agree with Rivet and Garon getting the start. We sadly missed the booming right-handed shot of Stralman on the power play last night (can't believe we'd ever miss Strahlman). In regards to out TV duo, last night was one of their better efforts. They're homers. I understand that, but at least Davidge didn't endlessly leture us on how the Jackets should have been playing. They just stated the obvious: they were discombobulated.

Nice comment, my next state neighbor. Maybe the weather there is making them surly. About 70 and sunny here. And you?
