Chris neil is the type of guy you either hate or want on your team....He shows up to every game because for guys like him it maybe their last...
His paycheck isnt based on scoring 30,40,50 goals but rather protecting his team when needed. And for taking a punch in the head he is worth every cent of his contract, because he fullfills it every night..
The other night he scored two on Price...
Good for Chris Neil..He shows up, fights, and any scoring punch he adds is just a bonus...
Now lets fast forward....GOMEZ
He doesnt show up..doesnt score, doesnt fight, doesnt contribute..and make twice as much and maybe more than Chris neil...
Where is the justice??

Should contracts be based on performance?? Not the last year of your contract!! Rather by a base salary and then per goal / per assist.
Sure would make for a different game

right on'

it was the Chris Neil show all night long and Spacek decided he just would NOT cover him about 5 times.

I was amazed at the defensive approach with regard to Neil who wa sin Prices face all night.

He's just good too, he made Beaulieu look like a bonafied rookie on a few ocassions as well. Not that Beaulieu isn't playing great but Neil is a fucking seasoned and very very tough to play against and just tough veteran now.

Excellent post man

The Contract issue is hard to look at and accept even today after all this time having gone by, each time I see what you said there, It Hurts, BIG Time, cause it all makes no sense.

The Gomez contract will haunt the Canadiens for a very long time. I think they should embarrass him and waive him through the league, then make him play for two years in the american league or even the echl. That would give him a clue of what everyone thinks of him.Yes it was a stupid contract to give a player of that calibre, but if he would at least put in a good effort we could swallow this a little more easily, but he just is not trying at all.
