It won't match the Islanders' draft party for drama, but No. 1 pick John Tavares is scheduled to meet his Long Island public in an introductory news conference at 12:30 this afternoon at Nassau Coliseum .

Would love for the old jerseys to come back! Bring back the spirit of the old days. Unfortunately the NHL has a rule about making too many changes to the uniform, for now it will have to be the third jersey.

From an organization that would get burned by signing an overrated player to a 15-year deal --then do it all over again?
