These are fairly common United States stamps. As a rule as rule of thumb, if in unused (mint) condition, their catalog value is their usually twice their face value or 20 cents, which ever is greater. If used, their catalog value is about 20 cents a piece. If you like to see exactly what they are worth, take them to a library and ask the reference librarian if they have some Scott catalogs.

Victoria,

According to the 2007 Scott Specialized Catalogue of United States and Covers, a first day cover of that particular stamp, C34, is valued at $2.00.

I have 3 stamps they have a green background with a picture of Thomas Jefferson on the front of them they are one cent postage stamps. I was wondering how much these stamps are valued at or should I just dispose of them?

I suspect you have you Scott 1278 which was issued in 1968 as part of the Prominent American Series. These stamps are quite common and available at the post office for years. I'd just go ahead and use them for postage. They're still worth 1 cent.

Here's a link to an article by Jim Watson on the best ways of selling a stamp collection and/or finding out what it might be worth.

http://pages.ebay.ca/community/library/catind... .

Check it out. It's the best advice I know of.

I suspect you are referring to Scott #124-130. These picture King Albert wearing a helmet and have 'belgique 1914/1918 belgie' on them. You did not say whether they were new or used. In this case it doesn't matter because either way they catalog for around $3 US.

If anyone can give me an idea of the value of my stamps it would be greatly appreciated.

3 mint condition Prince Ranier & Princess Grace stamps dated I beleive 1956. I think their wedding commemoration stamps. Left side is a head shot of the princess and the right a head shot of the Prince. 3 different stamps in the set, one Green , one Blue , & the last red. From Monaco I beleive at least that's what it says on the top of each. Unused & better than mint condition I would say. Also have hundreds of other stamps but curious about these for starters.

Any info appreciated !
Thanks !

The stamps you are referring are part of a 8 stamp set (Scott 366-370,C46-48) which was issued by Monaco on April 19, 1956, the day Prince Ranier and Princess Grace were married.

You have the three lower values which catalog for $1 (in unused condition)according to my 2006 Scott Catalog. The entire set catalogs for $9.40 in mint condition.

Hi, would anyone know the value of the following unused stamps:(1) Paul Dudley White MD 3 cent; (2) Hugo L. Black 5 cent; and (3) Oliver Wendell Holmes 15 cent. What would be the best way to sell these stamps if they have any value beyond face amount? Thanks for the assistance.

These are fairly common US stampw. I'm afraid they're pretty much worth their just face value unless there is some error or misprint.

I have a collection of about 500 stamps still on the letters on which they were sent, all are dated from 1909 through the 1930's. About 100 or so are on post cards from that period. Most are from all over the us and Hawaii. How do I find out if they are worth anything. The history the letters themselves talk about from that period and the things that were going on at that time around ww1 is cool to read. Could these things be worth anything??

You may have something there. Often the letters and the history they contain are worth more far than the stamps on them. Also the cancellations are of interest to collectors and postal historian. It's hard to say what they're worth without seeing them. I would get in touch with Jim Forte at www.jimforte.com and have him give you an appraisal. He's quite knowledgable in this area and it would be best to check with him or someone else before discarding them.
