Unfortunately, they are not worth very much. Very few stamp collectors are interested in them. You might try a jewelry store.
Don,
A bit of a novice here, wondering what the connection between stamps and a jewelry store.??

I have 10 Canadian Christmas stamps. I believe it's #85 in the Scott Stamp Catalogue. Color is good. Gum is turning yellow and splotchy. Are they worth anything?

The stamp you are referring to, Canada #85, catalogs for $37.50 in the 2008 Scott Catalogue.
If it's never been hinged it catalogs for $62.50. Since it was issued in 1898, the gum condition would no doubt be poor.

So yes...I would say it is worth something.

There is no connection. That's why those gold and silver plated stamps are neither fish nor fowl. Neither traditional stamp collectors or jewelers have much of an interest in them.

Hi Don... whoever you are. This is my first visit to this site. I was directed here by googleing "stamp values" at the request of my mom. It brings to mind the fact that somehow about 20 years ago I came in possession of a complete set of "royal wedding" stamps from the island of montserrat.(not sure of the spelling) I understand that the island was partially destroyed by a volcanic activity. Any idea of the value (if any) of these stamps. Please post response and e-mail to [email protected] thanks.

Hi, anyone know how to remove old stamps from an old (early 1900s) album, for re-mounting in a stockbook?
They appear to be stuck down flush (can't see hinging) and also have a little dirt around the edges- also what is the safest way to clean old stamps?
Thanks!

At first glance you have some very valuable stamps. I would place them with an auction house. Here's a link to a list of auction houses around the United States.http://www.stampdomain. com/auctionhouse2.htm Check with them to see what they they might fetch price wise.
