A historical society ready to destroy something historic. Shame on them.

It's easy to condemn the historical society, but even museums de-asscession pieces of their collection they no longer deem worth saving. The railraod museum in Strasburg does it yearly.
Why own a railroad that would take 1.5 million per mile to fix to make it safe for operation (at 7.4 miles long that's 11.1 million dollars), when they could simply have the debt repaid and acquire items that fall within their own interest.
The railroad dug its own grave, and now that they can't save it, they're trying to get public opinion in their favor, but its too little, too late. They should have thought about that before they stopped operating in 2004.

Heritage Preserver,
While the management should have been more proactive earlier, the fact remains that Mr. Hart was firmly in control of the railroad until his passing in 2008.

Isn't it ironic that Bucks County Historical Society would be so rigid in the acceptance of their new found "free money" as to cause the elimination of an important historical feature (such as the Stewartstown Railroad) and to erase it from the face of the earth in the name of historical preservation? Hello...there's something seriously wrong with this picture! Someone’s priorities need serious re-evaluation! Based solely on the information provided is this editorial, it would appear there is an obvious legal representative personality issue to be dealt with...or "would it be very unusual to consider something like that?"
