I can't wait!!! I have a layout I've always wanted to show. It's an N-Scale Fully DCC and is about 6x18 (Very large for N-Scale) and I'm 29 and have worked on it since I was about 10 years old, but times are really tough and I want to open a business. I need seed money and don't qualify for a small business loan so I'm thinking of displaying it for sale. It is VERY BEAUTIFUL and VERY Technology Oriented, fully DCC, Custom Trackwork, Custom Switches, and is a modification (with a yard and $400 Turntable/Roundhouse added) of the last and most complicated layout in the classic book from Atlas called, "Nine N Scale Railroads" and not only have I made it bigger and added the yard, I've also done away with the 4 way crossing and reverse loop for an over/under so 4 trains can run unattended and have quite literally well over $10,000 in it. As much as I hate to part with it, I have nothing else of real value to start my business. From one enthusiast to another, what would YOU do in this situation?(No, I'm not trying to sell you my layout, lol.) I just value opinions of fellow model railroaders as I find we are a dying breed of honest hard working people who are also very passionate and this is such a tough decision. The only thing not complete (Thought about starting a workshop and maybe club of some kind as I live in Wheelersburg, OH and we have NOTHING for model railroaders around here is a roughly 3x8 section on one end, that is "BLANK" and "FLAT" right now I thought about making a city/town out of since the layout is mostly track/trains and if you look at the book or online and see it you'll find there wasn't room for a city/town, so I built one and have collected a TON of buildings over the years and have a HUGE amount of trees, cars, roads, telephone polls, buildings, all the things you find in "life" for a very realistic layout, but would love to involve some others in getting together and making this a project ALL could enjoy working on together, making new friends, and doing something good and wholesome which we need more of these days. Any comments on this subject are very much welcome and appreciated! I have a beautiful home, dedicated home theater, and HUGE Finished Basement, or as I like to call it, my model railroad paradise room, where I have the room (just not the time) to build any scale, any size, layout I wish and when I'm ready for a break, I can walk into my theater and watch a great show about trains I found on the "RFD" Channel on DirecTV! Check it out if you haven't already! Anyone interested in talking more about getting together, talking trains, maybe even forming a club, or just to have a bull session, feel free to contact me at [email protected] om and I hope to see you all at this year's Greenbo Lodge Train Show, where I've been every year for the last 20 years!
